For all terrain these have never failed me, though I have a pair of Nike High Top Hiking boots that I've had since the mid 90's that are fantastic. Not even sure if they still make them.

I still have the oots from Nam, nothing touches them with the heat and rain, but am real partial to Wolverine and Redman, do not wear anything else. Wolverine, have the bottom that actually give in about 1/4" when you take a step like a shock absorber. Watertight and comfort plus, but have never seen them for under 100.00 JLC
