I always try to consider what history seems to teach us, and if you want a good historic lesson, read about why the name Chamberlain is synonymous with APPEASEMENT, and what that failed policy got us-- namely World War II. Chamberlain came up through the British political ranks and at one time was Prime Minister. When Hitler gained complete power in Germany, and began his saber rattling, Chamberlain did everything except giving old Adolph a BJ in the middle of Picadilly Circus, in order to get Hitler's agreement to forego aggression throughout Europe. The signed piece of paper was not worth anything ecxcept to be used perhaps, as toilet paper. This was supposed to give all of Europe "peace in our time". You know the rest of the story.

Now fast forward to the present. We now have another madman, attempting to become the modern day successful model of Hitler. We have Ahmedinejad of Iran driving to make his country a nuclear power, and a worldwide power broker, by threat of leading a worldwide Islamist jihad. We also have the leader of the free world, President Obama, beginning an appeasement dance with Ahmedinejad, as did Chamberlain with Hitler. My gut feel is that we are going to wind up the same way, as did Europe and the Allies in the late 1930's.

Chmberlain's "peace in our time" policy is now Obama's "new diplomacy".

Perhaps we should call it, "PEACE THROUGH WEAKNESS".

GOD, Help Us!!

I think you're partially correct. I just don't think that Mr Obama and his advisors give a Rats Ass about Iran. I believe his goal (and he is well on the way to success) is to make the U.S. a Socialist country. All the rest is just one of those distractions to put up with.

for driving us into socialism can ignore, as a distraction, psychotics with nukes and an army of 1.5 billion Islamist believers. That is an awfully BIG rat's ass.

about it. I remember when I was kid---in the late 1930's---people were laughing about "that crackpot Hitler". Now they are laughing at those crackpots, Khameini and Ahmedinejad. They are two psychotics, who have delusions of grandeur about conquering the non-believer world with Nukes and an army of 1.5 billion Islamists. Sure-- it sounds like a bad movie. So did Hitler's ranting and saber rattling, but look at what he almost pulled off, and he did not have an army of 1.5 billion Germans, infiltrated all around the world.

I understand your position and I too have those same concerns. My point is that they had predetermined their course and are now hard about it. All of the ancillary concerns can be negotiated or overcome(one way or the other).
I'm sure u remember the bouncing ball in the theatres of past. Well, it's bouncing it's way toward socialism and Obama's eyeball is going up & down following it. We can either endure or raise Hell with our congress men & women in our polital party as well as the oppositions party. Let the opposition hear from you ! Numerous times ! OK I'm tired now.

Why does history view Neville Chamberlain so badly? He did pass a good bit of policies that helped like the Factory Act of 1937, Housing Act of 1938, and the Holidays with Pay Act of 1938, etc. I am doing a paper and the question is: Why does history view Neville Chamberlain badly? Is it fair to do so? I have found the good things, but I would like some info on why everyone views him badly. I can't seem to find much information on why everyone hates him. Can someone help with this?
