This is where the ladies and weak of heart have a chance to run screaming.

I am old, garrulous, extremely good looking and know just about enough about everything to have an opinion but not enough about anything to be truly dangerous. I like to shoot hand guns at ridiculously long distances at ridiculously small targets and am overly excited when I actually hit the target of choice, the misses I don't remember so much.

I'm not a gunsmith and I own to many guns and shoot to much to be able to build up a large cache of ammo. This makes my toy store guys happy because I pay their light bill every month and my gunsmith busy putting my guns back together. I will shoot in the rain but not if I hear thunder or see lightning. Range time when it is 8 below and the wind is under 20 mph are hours to be cherished because I don't have to share the range and I can spread my gear out on several benches. I will admit I like shooting in good weather too, might even admit I prefer it but it is not necessary to have trigger time.

Also like flowers, dogs, fishing and Celtic music. Will read almost anything by anybody unless I have something against the feller like that liar who wrote 'Arming America: The Origins of a National Gun Culture', Michael Bellesiles.

Just don't call me late for dinner.

It sounds like you will fit in with this insane band of gun toting misfits just fine. We are all gun lovers here and love to talk about everything gun and not gun related. Pop the top on a cold beer, kick off your shoes and enjoy the site. Lots of good information to be had here. Lots of good folks here too.

welcome Old Grump

Please allow me to introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith
And I was 'round when Jesus Christ
Had his moment of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that Pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game

I stuck around St. Petersberg
When I saw it was a time for a change
Killed the Czar and his ministers
Anastasia screamed in vain

I rode a tank
Held a general's rank
When the Blitzkrieg raged
And the bodies stank

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
What's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah

I have reasons for the things I do, just don't expect them to be reasonable

Hello Old Grump

Welcome to the site and I also like to shoot small targets at long range, but with a rifle in hand. Enjoy yourself here on the site.

Yeah, samD: Me, too

umm, I guess. I think you should catch a break if you're of a 'certain age,' myself.

Called Dripping Springs, Tx chili. Of course it is made WITHOUT beans because real chili ain't got no friggin beans in it.
It is a recipe from a friend of mine, she used to go to school with Don Meridith, who is also from Dripping Springs.

this is just about the greatest compliment pops can give too! both ryo and little brother are sworn to a life of secrecy about the chili recipe. it a sacred trust in our family, but pops have decide that you and victor chan, and greasypaws chan, and brad chan and ivan chan are worthy and he is considering a few others too like reaper chan and hug e bear chan and a few others he want to keep secret for now, but hey you guys know who you are. special close friends of ryo and family. trust me, it worth the trade! ryo will eat just about anything put in front of self that won't eat little ryo first neh. have even try alligator tail, but found it almost too chewy to eat. kind of like trying to chew on a rubber ball neh, but when it come to three things to eat in life, ryo is serious as the business end of a cruise missile neh. one is sushi, next is sukiyaki and most important of all is chili. chili is the fifth food group after all neh.

Jesus had a 1911?

I always thought he carried a Smith & Wesson .357 magnum. Nickel plated with pearl handles, ingraved with "JC's Peacemaker" on the grip. I never took him for an auto kinda guy. I thought he was all about some wheel guns. Who knew?

welcome to the site and have fun. I like shooting at very large targets very close to me with anything that propels projectiles. It boosts my ego to be able to hit the broadside of a barn from the inside with a belt-fed gun 4 out of 40 times. And Jesus wouldn't have been crucified if he'd had a Glock. The 1911 must have malfunctioned while fighting off the Romans. Gee, go figure.
