1. The Apathetic Gun Owner

The apathetic gun owner has been and continues to be the biggest threat to our gun rights. The apathetic gun owner is a freeloader who expects everyone else to fight the fight for them. They reap the benefits and enjoyment of gun ownership, but do absolutely nothing to defend it. They often deny that there is any real threat to our Second Amendment rights and feel that the government would never actually confiscate guns from law-abiding Americans. This is despite the fact that it has been done in the past.

The apathetic gun owner often does not get involved politically in the fight for our Second Amendment rights. He may neither vote nor volunteer on the campaigns of pro-gun candidates. As a result, anti-gun candidates win elections and our Second Amendment rights continue to slowly erode. He can't spare even a few minutes to call or email his representatives to urge them to pass pro-gun legislation, yet complains when anti-gun legislation is passed. When this happens, the apathetic gun owner will blame the NRA and other pro-gun organizations and accuse them of not doing enough. He does not realize that the power of the NRA and other gun groups comes from everyday gun owners.

The apathetic gun owner more than likely has stocked up on guns and ammo since B. Hussein Obama was elected. However, he did not do anything during the election season to defeat him. If only his apathy did not prevent him from taking Obama's threat to our rights seriously in the first place.

The apathetic gun owner does not actively support pro-gun organization such as the National Rifle Association, and the Second Amendment Foundation.

Without a doubt, the apathetic gun owner is the most dangerous threat to our gun rights. In order to fully restore our Second Amendment rights, all gun owners must actively join the struggle

This is something we should all think about every day, to ensure that none of us ever become the "apathetic gun owner". We all have the obligation to get involved in every way in which we're financially and physically capable. If any of us have the tendency to hang back, for reasons of modesty or whatever, and reluctance to "get involved", to stay on the outside and watch, we need to get hold of ourselves, lest we lose those rights that we cherish.

i get tired of

hearing people blast the NRA about this or that when in reality they just don't want to pony up the 35 bucks to join because then they will get a lot of mail asking for donations, well fuck that shit, join the NRA and see what good comes of it,throw the mail in the trash or donate,The NRA has been around a long time and done many good deeds, and every swinging dick on this site ought to be a member, don't even tell me if you don't belong,i don't care to hear it,and your opinion means shit to me if your not a member of the NRA,Joining the NRA is only one part of being active in pro-gun agenda but it is the strongest and their voice is heard

If the anti gunners wanted to try and destroy the NRA they would of found someone that was a fraud, cheat, liar, thief by now, but they can't,those guys are in congress.

i tried being reasonable,i didn't like it, NRA LIFE MEMBER,USMC VETERAN

They view the constitution as an obstacle. I'm afraid they'll be looking to change it in various ways in the coming days. At the present time I don't they have much hope, because of the awakening resistance in the country right now, but I believe that it's part of their master plan. A socialist elite has no regard for individual rights (certainly not the 2nd Amendment), believing instead in the "collective". And it's worse, because the elite just pays lip service to the rights of the "collective". After all, they're the elite - they know best and have the innate right to rule the plebians.

you're 100% right. And don't forget the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, the Second Amendment Foundation, and Jews for the Protection of Firearms Ownership. Great organizations, and very militant in fighting for the 2nd Amendment rights of all of us.

I seriously doubt that we would have the firearms freedoms we do were it not for the NRA, and other 2nd amendment activist groups. I will also admit to being somewhat apathetic on this issue, part of that is living in a state that has sane; ie nonrestrictive ownership guidelines. Part of it might just be budget issues. I've never seen the need to pony up the bucks to be a life member, so i wind up doing the every other year thing that im guessing others do.. That will change this year. There's no question it has reached the point that every effort must be made to empower the NRA and other groups.

a man has to hold his word, hold his beliefs, and hold a good sight picture.
