I will make an honest effort to keep emotions out of this, but it's difficult as it's one of the major issues we face, and as the Dems know..let that read KNOW.. the only way they can get reelected this fall and in 2012 will be with the Hispanic vote behind them..

Reed already is trying to make that a major priority as his numbers are so low, and we all know how this is going to play out before Obarry runs in 2012.. We are going to have to face this issue.. The only question is when.

Unless you live in Phoenix you can't appreciate how much this has affected the state of AZ.. I lived in the state for 22 years before we moved to Phoenix in 1999, and could not believe the diffrence between everywhere else i had lived and Phoenix.. The first thing we did when we retired was move out of the city.. Those figures in the article above are frightening and accurate.. The PPD uses a figure of 1 K plus per week for stolen cars.. and i believe were now 4th in the nation with our murder rate..

Gloria and i are news junkies, and every evening at 5 and again at 6 we make a choice (depending on our emotional health) on watching local news, and the attending murder rate.. One sick story after another.. I've seen this for the last decade just go down hill, and honestly there's more than one day when we skip the local news as were just sick to death of whats going on..

I don't think as a moral nation that we can turn away anyone from an emergency ward.. But we sure as hell could triage them.. The idea of giving them them benefits that Cali has, that in turn has ruined that state financially is absurd..

I don't think the new bill will stand the court challenges that it will face.. Remember this will be overseen by our Nations AG.. Holder the "bold".. But i know we're at least doing something that's proactive, vs the reactive posture we've had..

I heard on CNN (i know fox was on break) yesterday that only 1/4.. think about this, only 25% of our young people can qualify for the military.. When is this Nation going to wake up.. Only half of our (total population) of HS students graduate.. What are we going to be, and what kind of a Nation will we be, when only half of our kids are graduating out of a system that's designed to LET them graduate...

Sheesh.. im a whiny ass geezer.. I really wish this was just a debate, and not the reality it is..

Up here in Washington state we have some of them, but nothing compared to you alls down there. I actually moved away from Wenatchee Wa because of the local elected officials stance on the hispanic people. I was at a debate between the two guys running for county commisioner and the question was brought up about how the hispanics lgeal and otherwise were affecting the community in negatice ways. The one canditidate that ended up winning and I quoate he said If the whites dont like the Mexicans then the whites can leave. The Mexicans won him that election and I ended up moving back to my home town 180 miles east. My monster-inlaw still lives there and she is always sending us copies of the local paper about the crime rate over there. I pray other sates follow your states lead on the immagration stants.

Man thats just not right... if the whites dont like it the whites can leave..

The thing that pizzes me off is that we all know great Hispanics that we'd be proud to have as friends, anybody thats spent time in the militrary knows what proud people they are.. It's not about skin color, its about being ILLEGAL.. I just don't get why people dont get this.. How do ya suppose we would be treated in Mexico..

Thank You Greg

you said it completely right. This has nothing to do with skin color. I've got great friends that are black, white, hispanic. But I have also known scumbags that were black, white, hispanic. It's not the color it's the man. I feel for the people who really are trying to make a better life for themselves. But illeagal is illeagal, you want to come to this country do it the proper way. Not sneaking across a border in the middle of the night. Really if your country is so bad try staying there and fixing it not sneaking into mine.

America is not at war. The U.S. Military is at war. America is at the Mall. If you don't stand behind our troops, PLEASE feel free to stand in front of them!

Quoted by Greg.
Well, I just finished an article in a nat geo.
Guetemalans, Hondurans and El Salvadorans, all entering Mexico illegally from the south.
The bandits and drug runners deal them misery.
The "border agents" look the other way for 10 bucks.
The Mexican government has an agency to actually help these people make it to the American border ( info on safer crossing areas and such).
The Mexican wetbacks HATE the Guatemalans and others. They feel that "their" jobs are being taken from them by cheaper labor! ( i have no words )
I have encountered El Salvadoran immigrants who carry green cards. They all worked for a paving company out of Nebraska. Decent enough people but these were not minimum wage jobs. Equipment operators, drivers, supervisors - the stuff native sons ought to be doing.
The Guatemalans all worked in a hog processing plant, killin and cleaning.
No social interaction whatsoever, I suspect they might have had a 20% green card rate.
So, Mexico don't care as long as you keep moving north or south. Just don't stop for too long.
