I've been wanting a new lever action for a while my dad has a winchester model 94 I was looking for a similar one but with a lower price tag than that preferably in 44 or 45 maybe even a 45-70

a Marlin 1894 in .44 magnum, hell of a shooter right out of the box,one of my favorite rifles.

The only lever action I've had any experience with is my Henry .22. I think a Winchester 1892 in .45 Colt would probably retail around $1,100 and a Henry Big Boy in .45 Colt would be around $900. So you would probably only save $200-300 in a similar rifle with Henry.

Henry and Marlin both make a great lever action rifle. You can find them in various calibers from 22lr to 45 colt. Id be happy with either one, but would prefer the Henry.

A great lever gun.......you should have no problem finding one for less than $700!

I did a little looking on Gunbroker and you can pick a Marlin up from any where from 550 on up.It all depends if you want stainless or blued finish.

that is a good idea on the rossi's. they don't have the high price tag and they work. i have a .44 mag and have not had any trouble with it. when it was brand new it was a little hard to feed and work the lever but the more i shot it , it got a lot better. it just needed to be broke in . shoots as well as my marlin ( which i love also )

For about 2 yrs. Went to the range, shot my boyfriends Ruger P345 and was hooked. I prefer shooting .40 and .45s but anything's fun. As long as I get to shoot I'm happy.

You might want to consider 44mag over 45, if only for the cost and availability of ammo..

I had a Winchester model 94 in .44 but due to economic factors had to part with her. Was a great rifle but was very short and kicked way worse than I would have expected. Wish I had her back though. Need to start looking again. Good Luck!
