On line or local?

Where is the best place to purchase a gun? Sometimes I think that on-line is better but after the ffl and transfer fees plus shipping would I be better off just going local

on line or local

I just bought off of Gunbrokers.com. It was $20 for FFL and $15 for shipping. I got a Glock19. You need as I did, to research. I went to our local gun show and retail shops. All in all I saved at least $100.
It took me a month but I am very happy.

just wondering

If a hundred is really worth it...I kinda liked it better when I could go to the gun store and talk to someone and feel the gun you know...cause what I thought I wanted on-line got to the store and hated it

wondering

Like I say, research, I went to the shops and gun show and tried out the feel of what I wanted. I then found the best deal for me. My $100 or theirs.

Local or on-line

Local merchants need to be supported as much as possible, if you don't, they wont be there when you really need them. I know this isn't an easy issue to address, and I like saving money as much as the next guy, but the reality is that it costs to have your local retailer present. The on-line seller avoids many of the overhead costs that your local retailer must deal with. Also the on-line guy is harder to deal with if you should have any problems. So, make your choice, but realize the real cost.

well , i say combine the both worlds. go to your local dealers and check out the guns, but if you can get the same gun 100.00 or more cheaper, go for it.most of your local dealers are buying from the internet, too.

Not getting the point

Ebear, I don't think you are getting my point. If you want your local guy to be there, you better do business with him or he will end up folding up his tent and be gone. I have seen so many gun shops and gunsmiths have to go out of business because they lacked enough business to pay the bills. Overhead costs are very high in this business and many of the internet guys avoid the costs. This also tends to have a cost to us as customers for the lack of support after the sale. Pay now or pay later, and let the cosumer beware.
