A little dis-belief
This is a long rant...I was at the store today, in line behind some hispanics.normal enough for around here. They had a shopping 2 carts full of things, not that normal around here, and then the checker rings up some beer and say ya can't use that card for alcohol. I am thinking what kind of card says ya can't use it for that. Did I miss something??? I don't want one. I asked the clerk what it was called so I won't get one. He said Oregon Trails, OK duly noted to me...during the process the hispanics, can't speak a word of English were trying to communicate to the clerk about some stuff but the clerk couldn't speak Spanish. This was attempted a couple times.now I don't barge into anyone’s business and could care less what flavor they are so I listened and yes I speak Spanish and heard the woman talking to her guy, telling him what an A hole among a few other choice words, really dis-respectful, actually more like contempt about the clerk for NOT being able to speak spanish, the clerk called for one who could and kept checking them out..They finished their checkout, total of bill, $585.74.I was next. I told the clerk what they had said, he groweled, shook his head and said they have been in before but never knew what they are talking about, he said at least THEY should learn SOME english, now I know thanks to you. He ALSO told me that the card they used is a welfare card, apparently they don't use food stamps here in oregon, they issue a credit/debit card with the amount of food stamps on them...I'm getting to the point. I am done at the checkout and I walked out and they were loading up the stuff in a brand new Cadillac escalade EXT?this thing had at least a 4000.00 custom pearl paint job,1500.00-2000.00 at least per wheel, they had gold trimming all over them and at least 800.00 per tire(low profile 20 something inch tires) so I have this imprint in my head, normaly I don't give a rats ass about people but the total lack of respect these people showed the clerk really hit a sour note with me, added to the fact that they were on welfare, which is pretty normal around here.(I recollect seeing people using that card before) AND driving about 80K's worth of NEW vehicle and accessories..Something is wrong with the picture I witnessed today. Why am I working my fingers to the bone and certain people are handed my money??

I certainely would have gotten the license number, took a picture and raised holy hell. This isn't right. They should not be able to qualify for welfare with that kind of vehicle. These people are running a scam of some kind and it must be stopped. You take a pic, get lic# to me and I will pursue it.

Sounds normal

A disable vet is lucky to get $99.00 a month and hispanics get a lot of money for food stamps and I'm driving around with a car that is only worth $600. Yes, this is something very wrong with this picture.

They helped get his sorry ass into office. Nitris I used to live in a town with a large population of hispanics and I seen this same thing several times. It is a hard thing to stomach, but I had to say you know what my kids will know what a hards days work is. They will also know they can be proad for what they are and can stand up and be prod for everything they earn for themselves.

This is nothing new.

This has happened before with African-Americans. Especially here in the south. I remember, as a child in the 1970's, when you would go through town to the black community, you could see at every house, a new Coupe de Ville with chrome wheels and curb feelers and big white walled tires. These illegals are only taking the lead of the ones that came before them and the democratic government is letting them get away with it. You guys can try to pursue this but you are wasting your time. This is exactly what Obama wants ALL of us to do. Get on tax payer funded welfare so we can all drive a 70000 dollar car, live in a flea bag shotgun house, buy food on a government debit card, walk around with a 40 oz. in our hand, and soak up the money of the rich. This is what went on when Carter was in office and it is gonna happen with Obama.

Now before anyone starts in on me about being a racist, redneck cracker, let me remind you that this is only an observation. I didn't put any spin on this what so ever. I am only saying what I saw. The only difference from then to now is that they are using debit cards instead of food stamps. When my family owned a convenient store, these people would bring in those food stamps, buy a piece of bubble gum, hand you a 20 dollar food stamp and get back change...IN CASH!!! That is how they got the 40 oz. malt liquor. Nothing new to see here.

I see it all the time.

If you wanna get pissed off, go to your local "Save Money, Live Better" Superstore... I bought groceries yesterday and spent around $210.00. It takes me a long time because I have to add up every item in my head and keep a running tally so's I don't go over budget... which is sort of arbitrary because they cut hours where I work, and although my income was reduced by 20%, my daily caloric needs were not similarly reduced... Every item I place in my cart is a struggle because I have to determine whether I need this worse than I need that, that sort of thing. My wife has sticker shock every time we pay for the stuff... I laugh, because it ain't MANLY to cry in the checkout lane... but two checkout lanes over, the obese wench, with her blue tooth flashing in her ear, dressed to the nines, with a litter of half a dozen snot nosed chilluns, pushin' one grocery cart followed by her nine year old pushin the other, doesn't have to struggle with those same decisions, because she has her little EBT plastic. Two f***ing grocery carts full of junk food, at nearly $400.00; snack cakes, sugar drinks, chips, dips, soft drinks, shit I can't afford, or choose not to, and all they gotta do is swipe a little piece of plastic. I squeeze a nickel so hard, you can hear Thomas Jefferson screaming from his grave, and this family gets all the Cocoa Puffs they can eat... I didn't have the nuts to follow her out, because I didn't wanna get more pissed off when I saw her get into a ride newer and in better shape than mine.
15 years ago, when my ex-wife was temporarily disabled, we received food stamps for two months; after her recovery, when she went back to work, she reported it, but still got the food stamps. When I tried to return them, the people at the welfare office didn't know how to receive them because no one there had ever experienced someone returning them before.

Frustration

I am a physician, and when I have tried to turn in folks for Medicaid fraud, I generally get some hostile clerk telling me that it is their job to give the benefits out, not take them away. They do little to check on the accuracy of what is self reported on applications, and fraud is rampant.

Our whole Gov't in Washington is wrought with fraud and waste of massive proportions. It is criminal, the waste. We seem to hire incompetent clerks, pay them a handsome some and turn them loose. Of course, I would be willing to bet, that 80% of these people vote Democrat, to keep the gravy train running.
We need strict 2 term limits and no pensions. The gov't pensions should be put into the Social Security System and maybe this way they would see their money fading into the sunset! We really need to band together to fix this thing.

You would probably find they were drug dealers and they were using their minirity status to get the sympathy of the store clerk, so he won't make a scene.

this pisses me off!

most of you on here who know me,know that i was laid off last october and didnt get back to work until this february.for those who dont know,i am married with four children from 10yrs to 20 months old.i received unemployment(money i paid in to the system)and worked side jobs when i could.we never received any government assistance, just some nice gestures from a few caring american citizens!we drive 15 year old vehicles, dont have credit cards or big screen tv's.but what we do have is a nice tight family that knows how to survive the hard times and still enjoy life!this welfare/entitlement mentality makes me sick!i say the first step to receiving assistance should be mandatory once a month drug testing and you should have to prove citizenship!no papers=no check/grub stubs!if you dont like it then kick rocks!
