Log Splitter Question
A pal at work asked me this week if the fluid reservoir should be vented. I got to thinking, that in a perfect world I would say no. It's a zero sum movement - but my world isn't perfect! I thought that the oil was hydroscopic (like brake fluid) though. What's the answer folks? Thanks guys - I'll look like a hero at work Monday! It's too late for me, save yourself. |

a closed loop hydrolic system will have no vent hole and a open one will. Most logsplitters are of the open type.
