New Jobs?

Obama's new industry-led job training program is getting high marks from workforce experts for its emphasis on community colleges and industry partnerships. Do you think this will work out in the long run?

Oh boy!

More skilled unemployed people.
Nope, I think if you create the jobs, the people with the skillset already proven should go to those jobs. If we experience a shortage of tradesmen in a particular field, the work force companies will gladly train a person who is willing to work and learn.
It's getting better by the day in the electrical industry. Line construction companies are shorthanded in the Southwest. Bringing new guys to the field very regular.
Oil and gas workers are back to work. Trickle down is what we need, not trying to prop up the entire country

before the horse. You have to have the jobs before taking some sort of unnamed courses to qualify you for the job. The free market would determine that if it were allowed to function. I'm very suspicious of this program. Locally they are bragging about a "new course" for unemployed in the construction trades to become "energy auditors." You know what this means, don't you? In a few years you will not be allowed to sell your house without passing an energy audit assuring your house meets "green" specs. This is a very silver cloud with a black lining.

There was a time when

I was Skilled (still am), Unemployed (not really), Highly trained (yes, by the Government) but looking for a job.......The difference is I WANTED TO WORK!!! And I got my own job, the fucking Government had nothing to do with it!! I served them but they didn't have to serve me....That may change!....(edit) I do not feel entitled to anything....The current Admin. really piss me off!!!
