Lost and Found

I joined gunslot over a year ago but my puter fried and I lost everything. Just found ya'll again. Hello from sunny New Mexico. It's been raining quite a bit this last week so there's lotsa critters running around the desert. Nice to shoot early in the morn while it's still cool. Glad I found ya'll

I bought one of these a while back because I always wanted an 1911. I looked at several. EEA had a couple interesting guns but they were just too big for me. I knew very little about High Standard but it sure comes across as a tight, well finished arm. It fit my smallish hand perfectly and is a natural aimer. I took it out with my Glock 19 for comparison. I thought the Glock had more recoil than the High Standard. Both guns were real nice. They functioned perfectly through 100 rounds apiece. I love the 1911 but I sure wish someome would build an extended mag for the 1911s.

Hey Tomasco, I don't know how many rounds you mean when you say extended, but they do make some slightly extended mags. Here is a link to Wilsons, near the bottom of the page are some extended 10 round mags. And also a link to midway with a page of mags, there's a chip mccormick mag 10 rounder. Hope that helps.

bigger mags

Hey, thanks much for the links. I like the looks of the ChipMacs 10 rounder. Think I'll get a couple. Glocks spoiled me.... I grabbed a couple of those 33 round mags and I sure like them! They look a bit strange sticking out of a Glock 19 but, what the heck.

toxic Radium

RS is about 20 miles north of Las Cruces just off I-25. Real small, no stores. More horses than people. I haven't locked my front door for 20 years out here. Just started to tho.... There's been a rash of home invasions around here. It's called 'Radium Springs' because there's an underground river that's around 180F. I spent my early years on a ranch around Dell City. That was a long time ago.
