Congratulations. We all knew you could do it.

Some of us didn't know why. Just because you enjoy it?

Man you don't play around brother.. I mean we all know this is what you do and all.. BUT we all know how this sorta project works out, and amazed at how fast you made this happen..

Think we all have a vision of you bending over "lumpy" like that mad doctor.. and with your eyes rolling back in your head screaming .. "IT's ALIVE.. IT's ALIVE.. Good on ya guy..

So does it actaully fire on all 8, and is there enough torgue in her to make that front fender jump.?

Greg,

it's a strong running SOB. I have yet to actually drive the beast as I didn't have any power steering return hose yesterday and I would rather take a beating than set foot in an Autozone.

I am using what I would consider a fairly mild cam .447 lift 224 duration@.050, it's effective power band is 2200-5500 rpm with lot's of torque.

One particular source of embarassment for me is the fact that I could not remember how to wire a points distributor, points!!!! Model T technology for heaven's sakes...Sheesh!
I had the neg. terminal on the coil grounded and marveled at the fact that I had no fucking spark. After swapping out coils, checking voltages before and aft the ballast resistor, pulling the distributor no less than three times (that ain't easy behind that tunnel ram), I finally pulled my head out and un-grounded the coil and wahla.....fire in the hole! It is amazing to me that the simplest things can be the most difficult.

I have reasons for the things I do, just don't expect them to be reasonable

that barely running lop of a cam'd engine at idle.. You guys all know what im talking about.. i should do a post on sounds.. racking a slide, (pistol, and shotty) Harley's.. (there's a reason for the potato potato thing) and the lop of an engine with a cam in it.. or maybe not seems like a lot of work at the moment for something we all understand..

For those of you not into Harley's the sound is because of the firing order of the pistons.. 4 cycle engines (intake, compression, power, exhaust right) now imagine that on most engines the cycles are opposite so they balance, HD's arent.. the cylinder's are one cycle behind each other so consequently they both fire on the same revolution (as opposed to opposite which would be in balance) thus giving the distinctive potato potato sound..

Now the sound of slides racking is .... Excuse me class.. The professor is being called away.

remember these from the old days? Flowtech still offers them, header mufflers used to be all the rage. A local distributor has them in stock so I will throw them on this afternoon.
