Making A Metal target

I shoot primarily 9mm and .22 and I have some metal plates around the house and was wondering that when you set them up do they need to be at a certain angle and how far away should you be when shooting a 9mm and maybe a .357. Any ideas and comments on how to construct and distances to shoot at them for safety?

There's no certain angle, just angle it downward. A good idea also is to put a hay bale(s) or something similar a few feet in front of your target to catch any splatter from bouncing back into your legs. As for distance, when I shoot my steel with 9mm, 12 ga, or 22, I don't shoot any closer than 15 meters. I'm sure I don't have to say it, but if you don't wear eye pro normally, make sure you're doing it with steel. By the way, you and your buddies Snake Doc, Betty Blue, and Dirt Diver really let me down in season four. No wonder The Unit got canceled.

It shouldn't even be a

It shouldn't even be a question as to whether or not someone is (or should be) wearing eye protection. I fully believe in wearing eye protection AND taking all reasonable precautions possible. This is not a perfect world. We have all seen the funny/scarey videos about ricochet.

Season 1 was good, season 3 was good, but season 4 just got fucking retarded. Joss was a security risk, so she had to leave Charles, but she suddenly reappears, Molly gets into more espionage than the whole unit combined, Whiplash tries to rape the woman operator, who isn't really an operator, but he only did it as part of his cover, Bob got addicted to heroin but kicked it without anyone in the unit finding out, Jonas gets tasked to secure the spear that pierced Christ's side from a bunch of hispanic kung fu monks, then returns it, Mack takes his wife back after beating up COL Ryan instead of killing him, blah blah blah. It got dumb and I'm glad it got canceled with the direction it was going. Why do all my favorite shows get so dumb? My Name is Earl was funny, it got canceled, The Unit got dumb, it got canceled, is Burn Notice still on the air? Damn it, I hate life.
