Biz is too good Boss, half the time our own guys are creating work for me!! There aren't too many people with a strong work ethic these days. They tend to work harder at getting out of work.

Look whos back..

Good stuff.. don't disapoint lucky on the pics ok.. (he gets all "geez" and stuff) .. Mike i was thinking about you today..were moving and came across on of Pops minature 200 tn trucks.. I remember you were also interested in the big electric motors.. these are the big mine trucks that have a locamotive (yep still no spck) diesel driving a GE generator and then to dedicated HUGE motors on the wheels..

Pop got me a job after i got out of the Navy, and i worked on the assembly line of the 120 tn trucks, did the prototype of both the 150 and 200.. at the time WABCO (westinghouse air brake co) owned the market.. Believe they were bought out by Kabuka.. Wild guess (like most things) on the spelling there.. but Great pics and Dads operator belt buckle from 1938..

I got an unfair review

I got an unfair review recently. Actually all but one of us got the same review. That's how they keep from giving you a raise. I know management 101 stuff. No big surprise to me. My boss told me a few of the guys are afraid to call me for help. I said, as long as they can answer all the questions I have, then I will help them, otherwise don't call. And I have not changed. These guys get paid to learn. All they have to do is answer basic questions about the system they are working on. They would have no problem answering these questions IF they had their tools on the job. Because most of our guys, especially the younger ones, are LAZY ASS pieces of crap. So I am not going to tell these idiots how to fix it over the phone at 2 am. Because they haven't even tried to fix it themselves yet!!

I really believe this.. Obviously exceptions to this, we have some young guys on the site now who obviously believe that hard work matters., That being said i saw this play out in both Walmart and Lowes today.. Garage area of Walmart in Prescott.. they use tunnels as opposed to lifts.. Guys in the "pit" geezers.. Guys on the outside working.. "geezers".. three kids in walmart blue bs'n.. Go to Lowes.. approached by "geezers". with a great what can i get for you / point you towardsf attitude..

Gloria and i are moving and im puttng in a dog run (T posts and hog wire) before fence is built.. back in garden area looking for above.. have a question .. had to break up a group of youngsters who again were hav'n fun... they had a bit of an attitude that i broke up thier fun time.. I was hot when we walked out of the dept.. Thought about talking to a mgr.. then you wonder if maybe it was an isolated thing, and really didn't want to have a job loss on my concencious.. Still not sure im not going to call the mgr tomorrow tho.. If he cares about his numbers a good mgr can address this without (at this point) costing a job.. Kept thinking about the guys who were out of work who would have loved to have a good job, and sure NOT had an attitude because their story was cut short..

to be cover for goofing off like WE used to do with a clipboard and ball point pen.
They talk business but the business they talk is not going to help get the job done or increase the bottom line.
Not just young'uns either, mid-level suits too stand in a group talking about what a great beach they went to when they were sent to a store in Calif. while I clear my throat, cough and finally say "EXCUSE ME!" Talk about looks that could kill, they don't like being told to move, they're "important" LOL

That kind of behavior did not happen b4 the big Wal*Mart expansion.

evening Lew..

I had a Sgt who actually knew ol Sam.. guess he worked in the same mall that the flagship.. or least original walmart was in.. Told a story (straight up guy no bs type) bout Sam bringing (brought himself, not had delivered) them in a Pizza.. Told me he was legendary for that sort of thing. All the gold in California, but guess not the type to show it

a man that would someday be the head of one of the worlds largest retail companies. There are still a lot of Wal*Mart Associates that affectionately call him "Mr. Sam". Nice man.
