hi gunslot,as a cali resident im curious on your opinions on whether a state has the right to pass leg on med mj,and allow its users to own guns, and does the fed have constitutional power to prohibit medical,or even legal mj,and if so should they have the right to restrict gun ownership based on this drug?

I don't have a problem with Medical MaryJane personally. As far as it goes with Guns' as with any drug including Alcohol if your partaking your not allowed to have a firearm on you. You can still own em...

As far as Medical classification goes... Alcohol has killed and caused the deaths of far more people than weed has hands down.

To me it seems there is more than a little Hypocrisy in Weed being considered a Schedule One drug and Alcohol is legal and acceptable.

my opinion

There shouldn't be any restrictions on any of it, state or federal. If MJ helps people with pain management or other medical conditions, I see no problem with it. It sure beats the synthetic narcotics that docs are handing out left and right, just so they'll be invited to Hawaii next year for a free vacation with the pharmaceutical rep. You all know where I stand on the right to bear arms. As far as harder drugs go, let Darwin sort em out. If someone wants to shoot coke and oxy between their toes, let them. They're only F'n up their own life. It's unfortunate that drug abuse/addiction feeds into other crimes such as identity theft, fraud, burglary, robbery etc... so I believe there should be severe penalties for those. Same with DUI's.

edit: I forgot to add, MJ is still illegal federally. There are a few states which have approved it for medicinal purposes, but that doesn't change the federal law. I know in AZ, the feds said they wouldn't seek out to prosecute individual MMJ users or caregivers, but may still prosecute dispensaries for trafficking or distribution. So currently, no one has opened up a dispensary. Gov Brewer filed a lawsuit with the feds trying to get some clarification. Its all a $$ game. Interesting how they don't bat an eye at dispensaries in CA, CO and a handful of other states, but AZ is on the shit list.

Medicinal MJ

I am a lover of liberty, so I am all for the decriminalizing of this. There are many liberties that we allowed have the government to take, due to our level of prosperity. But it is on verge of getting to the point of backlash as prosperity drops and lost liberties increase.

what?

drugs are illegal....fuck.

nah just kidding,i don't drink alcohol or do drugs of any kind, although i have been around guys that drink and play with guns, had to kick a guy out of my house a few years back because he wouldn't quit waving a gun around during a party.I pretty much agree with letting people do what they want as long as nobody gets hurt, but then stupid should hurt too.

having said that,MJ should be legal, farmed and sold, taxed, and be available for law abiding citizens to grow and harvest for their personal use, then maybe so much of it wouldn't come across the border, bring on the poppy fields to,think of the zombies that would be working the fields, not hurting anybody.

It's time this country moved forward with some of this shit and quit placating the losers, time to move on, leave the dead for the buzzards.

haha LBC. Yea I have seen and heard a lot about the dispensaries in in CA gettin raided by feds because they are still technically breaking the law, federal law. If you people can drink and own guns than why not smoke pot and own guns, as far as other synthetic drugs, hell no. Most smart people dont mix firearms with things that cause a change in the state of mind, like drugs or alchohol. And I still dont understand why MJ is a sch 1 drug, has to be a money deal...but tis still only a misdemeanor for under 20g. and a DUI should be more than a misdemeanor, but now im ranting on an off-topic topic..lol
