egregiously stupid...

I have no clue what they are thinking, probably that Obama will puss out, but, I don't know that he could as it would ensure total defeat at the poles....

Your correct really, the only way to ensure defeating him will be with Ron Paul because I can see Independents having no problem voting for him and even fed up lib's would vote for him. Anyone else and I'm not to sure many libs would cross lines at all.

Ron Paul fan boy here

Ron Paul correctly predicted the following events would happen during a speech to the House in 2002...
The invasion of Iraq without proper cause.
The housing market collapse.
A major economic downturn decimating Federal government finances through exploding deficits and uncontrolled spending.
He correctly predicted the devaluation of the dollar, and the rise of gold prices.
The gov't will continue to expand its powers, building on the Patriot Act (see the NDAA decision this week!)
He predicted the welfare state would continue to expand. (remember this is 2002 folks, early in Bush's first term). We just saw a new program supporting increasing loans to minorities this past month. And I'm fine with minorities...I dislike targeted legislation trying to benefit ANY particular group.
He correctly predicted we would engage in more undeclared wars and military adventurism overseas. We have now initiated drone strikes in Pakistan , Yemen , and Libya , in addition to those in Afghanistan and Iraq . And we are trying to pick a fight with Iran over their internal nuclear programs...we have little hard proof they are building weapons. Sounds like WMD's in Iraq all over again.
Dr. Paul predicted the interventionist blowback that continues to drive suicide attacks against Americans. He predicted U.S. taxpayers will pay to rebuild Palestine , both the West Bank and the Gaza , as well as Afghanistan . U.S. taxpayers paid to bomb these areas, so we will be expected to rebuild them. [ U.S. Congress has approved a total of over $700 billion for military operations, base security, reconstruction, foreign aid, embassy costs.] While this worked with Japan , we are taking a completely different tact with Afghanistan and Iraq .
Paul predicted peace, of sorts, will come to the Middle East , but will be short-lived. There will be big promises of more U.S. money and weapons flowing to Israel and to Arab countries allied with the United States . We recently announced more arms sales to Saudi, Bahrain , and Kuwait .
Dr. Paul predicted a boycott will be imposed, with oil prices soaring to historic highs. Look what is happening with Iran today. The U.N imposed a boycott, and oil is back over $100.
He predicted that some M.E. governments will be overthrown by Islamic fundamentalists. Look no further than the current Arab Spring.
Finally, he predicted that, in the next decade (2002-2012) Americans would become poorer, less free, and more dependent on the government for economic security. Class warfare will succeed in dividing us domestically (remember these are Dr. Paul's words ten years ago!!!)
I respect a guy who is willing to make those kids of predictions, and even more impressed when he is consistently proven correct. Is he a kook as some who like to sling mud would have you believe, or is he the only one legitimately calling foul on the policies and behaviors of BOTH parties that are hurting this nation and nearly everyone reading this sentence right now?

Predictions aren’t worth much unless one tries to do something with it. Do a Google search for "List of Legislation Authored by Ron Paul". Ron Paul actually backs up his words with bills that would've prevented a lot of the problems he predicted. Show me ANY candidate from ANY party who has made such an obvious and long-term effort to drive our nation in a better direction. You can’t.Ron Paul also serves on the following committees and subcommittees:-Committee on Financial Services-(Chairman) Subcommittee on Domestic Monetary Policy and Technology-Subcommittee on International Monetary Policy and Trade-Committee on Foreign Affairs-Subcommittee on Oversight and InvestigationsNow Google "List of Legislation AUTHORED by (your candidate here)." Gotta look for bills AUTHORED, not just sponsored. Obama co-authored ONE bill in his entire term in the U.S. Senate. ONE! Bachmann has never had a bill or resolution she’s sponsored signed into law, and she’s never wielded a committee gavel, either at the full or subcommittee level. Bachmann’s amendments and bills have rarely been considered by any committee, even with the House under GOP control. Bachmann is more of a bomb thrower than a legislator. Romney did get health care legislation passed, and he did improve the fiscal status of Massachusetts as governor. However, he flip-flopped on abortion. In his book, Romney writes about the need to expand American military programs and their funding. He recommends adding a minimum of 100,000 soldiers to the Marines and the Army specifically. He writes as well about updating America 's nuclear stockpile, building a missile defense system, and researching into cyber-warfare. This in spite of a lack of non-terrorist threats to U.S. mainlands. He further defends the Bush administration's efforts through the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) which bailed out numerous large banking institutions. Gingrich's bill authoring record is poor, at best. He did serve as Speaker of the House until eighty-four ethics charges were filed against Gingrich during his term. After extensive investigation, Gingrich was sanctioned $300,000 by a 395-28 House vote. It was the first time in history a speaker was disciplined for ethical wrongdoing.
Is Ron Paul REALLY that poor a choice when you look at the facts surrounding each candidate’s record? Shouldn't we vote on results and actions, instead of flowery rhetoric of change? In a perfect world, some Americans might actually think "gee, this guy might know what he's talking about. He predicted all these bad things were going to happen, and then he spent 10 years introducing bill after bill, at the rate of 60 bills per year on average, to try to stop it from happening. And I see we have repeated boom-bust cycles, high unemployment, a huge and growing Federal debt, and our men and women coming home mangled and dead in wooden boxes day after day from some distant country that doesn't want us there. And he has even written six books on all the stuff he wants to do to make us stronger and safer. MAYBE we ought to give this guy a closer look.

Make track records mean something again, and evaluate the entire Ron Paul body of work in 2012. .

Think i was like the first on the block to be a Libertarian. "IF" i were a joiner, that would be it, I supported Paul in 2008 (even with Mac as our senator) I'm more than comfortable with isolationism ..To a degree.. and Paul is an extraordinary man.. as is his son Rand.. I heard a quote recently that his primary (paul's) interest is still in finding a cure for cancer.. Quite a guy.

He scared me with the stance on Iran.. I applaud his honesty, he took an unpopular stance..

Just not sure we can have a nuclear Iran.. We sure would with Ron.. Were doing so much saber rattling at the moment that at least he would ratchet that down, but still can Iran have nukes.. A lot of this is also about Israel of course.. Would we be turning our back on Ali #1?

perfect but I imagine a Paul Presidency with a competent Secretary of state (Huntsman?) and other key advisers (cabinet) 'tuning up' his foreign policy a tad...We can't have a nuclear Iran and North Korea is not a good choice as a nuclear power (for obvious reasons) and I don't advocate turning our back on Israel, I just think that we have ourselves spread a bit thin. I am of the opinion that he is a 'diamond in the rough', he has better ideas than the rest of the field, hell, most won't give a direct answer to a question and none seem to have any viable answers to the critical problems that our nation faces........Politics as usual IMO

In the end I will vote for anybody other than Obummer, we can't have another four years of that shit!

I don't want to upset anyone with anything but.

But, they need to start considering how they are going to survive on their own. In the future the USA is going to be so backed up trying to keep itself afloat it isn't going to be able to expend anything on their needs.

" In the fiscal 1997 year alone, Israel received from a variety of U.S. federal budgets at least $525.8 million above and beyond its $3 billion from the foreign aid budget, and yet another $2 billion in federal loan guarantees. So the complete total of U.S. grants and loan guarantees to Israel for fiscal 1997 was $5,525,800,000. "
http://www.ifamericansknew.org/stats/cost_of_israel.html

Thomas R. Stauffer’s article in the June 2003 Washington Report, “The Costs to American Taxpayers of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict: $3 Trillion. http://www.washington-report.org/component/content/article/251-2003-june...

At some point the someone will have to calculate the point of diminishing return and be the bad guy....

Vaq for President !!

You my friend have solved it!

You know, they would definitely not put up with half the crap the USA does on that border.

I don't think we should just dump them, but they really need to quit depending on the US so heavily. We will not be able to be there forever and I think that is the working assumption on many peoples part.

is underwhelming right now. Nothing that really wows me. Ron is a Libertarian running as a Republican, and I like a lot of his points. Some say he is a kook, but I argue that it's better than what we've been getting. How about giving him a try. He couldn't fuck us worse than the current assholes in charge. And he might actually make steps to restoring the Republic. But mostly my vote so far is, "Not Obama"

Ron Paul,

I hate to say this but I think that he may be a bit 'radical' for the 'rank and file sheeple' in this country....IDK....Shit has gotten so bad that even a 'dumb fuck' like me is thinking 'outside the box' (shakes head).......Desperate times indeed!

I am afraid that the American people are going to, to coin a phrase "Fuck themselves out of a place at the table"........More 'Hope and Change' or some 'lackluster' GOP stooge, original ideas are not supported........fucking depressing!!!....On a positive note, I vote for 'regional gun clubs'.

I've bled enough. And unfortunately I feel a very small percentage of this country was worth it. The people of our country have forgotten the price that has been paid over the last 200+ years. Most people I know haven't even read the constitution or the bill of rights since school, and none have read or even heard of the federalist papers. They complain endlessly, but haven't sacrificed or fought for their rights. This is a country where you can accomplish anything, not where you are to be given everything. I'll get off my soapbox now.

Sorry. You're right. I feel the same. But you definitely have paid your dues. Seeing as you're just retiring, it would be a bad time for wave making. Hell, I wish they'd let vets get more special privileges. Like your vote should count twice if you've served and ten-fold if you've been in combat. And a fast track into congress or the white house too.
