Model 12 12 gauge

My 94 year old aunt wants to sell her father's
Model 12 shotgun it is a full choke with serial
#147094 she said it had a 1912 Hunting license under the
Recoil pad, but I read that they did not make the 12 gauge till
1914 any info and ideal of value would be appreciated.

Model 12

The model 12 is short for model 1912 and would've been brand new when that hunting license was issued. If it's in good shape she might be able to get upwards of $1000 for it depending on the variant and condition.

Thanks! Mchenry's has it as a 1917 model,
I will have to find out how a 1912 (maybe it was 1917)
Hunting license ended up in the recoil pad ?
I had read that the model 12 was not made in 12 ga till 1914
