Have any of you ever cut a bird shot shell? I was just taught a trick were half way down the wad you cut through the shell leaving only a small area on one side you do not cut through to hold the shell together. When fired that whole portion of the shell fires with the bird shot inside and does not come apart until impact, work more like a slug. I have been told it's a old time trick for taking down big game without a slug. I tried it and was amazed how well it worked. I was afraid of the shell getting stuck so I took my choke out, but have been told it's okay to leave it in. Still not sure about that.

Taking that choke out obviously exposes the "threads" to abrasion. I certainly would not shoot that shell but it u continue try using a Skeet 2 choke to save those threads.

(You have to look behind all of that outer space stuff)

hmm

good thought. Kinda a cool trick anyway. You can bet your buddy you can shoot a tighter pattern with the same type of shell the ring it and fire..lol
