Ok this is totally a joke but I thought it was funny
So I was thinking that instead of this political business with deciding where to allocate all the money to boost the economy and all that crap the following policy should be enacted.
You take a city which is old/rundown needs a facelift both economically and structurally (Infrastructure, you know bridges, dams, subway systems the works) and you pay everyone in the city fair value for everything in the city that they own and tell them to leave, this is the first wave of the stimulus. This brings money to every area which these people of this populace decide to move to.
You cordon off the entire city and use it for military training. Urban warefare and other various forms of training when the training is complete with the ground, you move to air. Bomb the hell out of the city, level the bitch. This allows for extensive training of many military personell and also provides for local economic stimulus since the service members and families will need somewhere to live while the training is in progress.
After all of the training excercises are complete companies are hired to come in and clean out what is left of the city and prepare it for reconstruction. The stimulus here is self evident. Thousands of people would need to be hired in order to complete a task such as this. After the city is fully prepared for reconstruction the reconstruction process can begin. Some of the reconstruction will be government run and contracted and some will be privately run. You allow people and companies who previously owned property here to re-enter the city and rebuild and you make it an attractive place financially for other newer companies and citizens to enter. In the end you have a brand new bustling city which could be revered as a financial center or technological center of the world. All of this in turn would stimulate the economy of at least the local area (within a few hundred miles) as a whole.
Just thought it was a comical idea........
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses
