My new toy...

I actually got one!!! The Puma Westerner in the .45LC. 5.5" barrel, case hardened finish. Just test fired it, put 3 bullets in the same hole at 20 yards. Has the smoothest trigger and action I've ever seen...

the other three....

let my significant other shoot once, shot a different target once, and got distracted and pulled one.

want a real thrill?

http://www.shopcorbon.com/CORBON-Hunter/45-Colt-Plus-P-265gr-CORBON-Hunt...

Pop a couple of these suckers off through it!

I'm going to pick up a Single 6 in 45 Colt when I can. Loads of fun to shoot and I want to try my hand a fast draw for the heck of it.

No sir, he fell into that bullet... Never argue with a stupid person. They'll just drag you down to their level and beat you with experience!!

Ronin, congrats on the new toy. The SAA is fun, right?

ISD, Those CORBONs look cool, but $53 for 20?! Shoot carefully, shoot slowly.

I have a rep of firing anything at least once down on the range. So Jim Ward who is one of the local Federal Firearm instructors brought in his Taurus Single Six 45 LC with those loads in it.

I shot it, two handed and it still ended up pointing at the ceiling from the recoil. Those are some seriously nasty rounds and will take down what you hit with it within reason...

Hot .45 Colt

ISD, sounds like fun. Yeah, even the wrist busting rounds are nice to try once in a while. They lose their thrill after a cylinder though. ;)
But that brings up a good point, many SAA (Colt peacemaker) replicas made are made to the chamber pressures of that period. If those of you that have these don't already know, be careful shooting some of the hotter .45 Colt loads.
That round was one of the first metallic cartridges, and was loaded with black powder. Today's powders can produce more bang with less powder, so be sure to stick to Cowboy action and safer loads if you are not sure you pistol can handle loads like ISD is talking about.
Otherwise, you might blow off a top strap, break your cylinder, or, worse, injure yourself.

Very cool. I just looked up a pic and noticed it's three screw. Too cool! I'd like to try one for sure!
