The difference between the two socoms: The socom 16 (16in. bbl) was the origional socom. The socom II is just the newer tactical lookin rifle with rail mounts so its easier to add accessories. Every thing on the rifles is exactly the same except for the front rail system. GREAT RIFLE!

and price on socom: I have seen them from $1,500-$1850, with the majority around $1,700. It really depends on what they go for in your local area. The socom II will run a little more because of the rail.
