Need some advice.

I am looking to buy a NIB Remington 700 Tactical in .308. I went to the local gun shop and they told me they could get me one for $1,125 all totaled, tax, transfer and all that bs. What do y'all think of that as a price? Too much? Just right? Good buy? Thanks for your input!

What does the rifle come with. If your getting some good optics and some accessories about right. I am thinking of a bolt action flat top for about $750 with no optics. I will look it up, getting old memory gone

Thanks for your input. I am looking at the police style gun, with nothing on it. I have found a few for high 900's online, but I'm not 100% sure which model I am going to get yet. Whether it be that one or the VTR. I was told that the police version is built heavier and is much more stable. And that is the version I had him quote me on.

Good choice. I too like the police version (700p) better. I still think the price is a little high for just the rifle. I think I could get one around here for around $899 to $999 tops. still a great rifle though.

just a price idea

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=119387356

found this on gunbroker to just give you an idea on price. I would think that a .308 would be a little cheaper than this 300 ultra mag, but either way its well below that other price. tried calling a local that does outta state business for ya, but they wont be able to give me a price till after the new year.

An sps varmint in the 308. as opposed to the 700 sps tactical(at least thats what I think your talkin about) as far as build goes, I would make the assumption you wont be keepin the hogue over mold stock very long anyways, the difference then is only 2" in heavy barrel length with 1:12 twist and about 500 off the price tag... now save up some funds and get yourself a nice mcmillan a-5 and have it bedded. You are correct in your assumptions. That is the weapon of choice. But I am up for suggestions I have looked into the Varmint and I like that one too. We shall see what happens I am going to make a decision here in the next three weeks, hopefully.....So thanks for you input man!

also check www.gtdist.com they have a savage law enf series for $539. I'm almost certain they sell to general public, most likely for a slightly higher than advertised price. just another option
