Welcome! Do you have any ideas on what you're looking for? (caliber, frame size, auto/revolver etc...) What do you plan on using it for? (target only, home defense, concealed carry). If you give us a better idea of you're experience and use for the pistol, I'm sure that there are plenty of us that can point you in the right direction.

Welcome to GunsLot.
Hope you enjoy the site..
A good all around gun is the Glock 19. Home defense, target practice, not competition and concealed carry. 9 mm is definately less expensive to shoot and plentiful. Ask the people that own one on here. Oh I have one and I love the G19.

Welcome to the site. What kind of pistol are you looking for? Make sure it fits your hand well and you like it is the most inportant thing for you.

call around to local ranges to see which one rent. Then you can go rent a few different styles to shoot. Purchase the one that fits you best.....trust me, you'll end up with more than one!

if you have'nt shot a gun , or you just wanna go to the range start out with a .22 auto, thenafter you Get used to it go with the 9*mm.

I do like my Glock 19, mostly because for my sized hand it is a perfect fit. I think that is a key issue, myself. I tried a couple of pistols where my pinky simply would not fit on the grip. I felt like that sucker would fly back at me if I couldn't control it. Some of the J-Frames are that way--just too small. For me, personally, the Glock was perfect, but depending on your sized hand, it could be too small--or too large for you. My cousin, who is 6'10" can't use the Glock, but he likes a 1911 because it better fits him. (You should see him in his Acura Integra, a real grasshopper.)

used is fine. Look it over to see if there are any obvious befects, but you really can't wear out a modern gun, so a used one is quite often a good choice. You can take the savings over the new gun for more ammo or magazines.
