New here

I am new to this forum but not to guns. My father was small bore champion of California in 1936 so I grew up with a gun in my hand. But I am now moving into an area of guns that I know nothing about, big bore air guns.

I actually came to this site looking to find a value to a Winchester Model 12 that I own in hopes of selling it or trading it for a big bore air gun.

If anyone wants to contact me OFF LIST my email address is Jim.Isbell@gmail.com

Welcome to the site

I hope you enjoy it. Bunch of great guys, lots of good info, lots of good pictures, lots of definite opinions.
We'd need the best description you can give of your Model 12 before anyone could venture an opinion as to value. Condition, meaning mechanical operation, % blue left, condition of the wood, gauge, choke, barrel length, etc. Is it original, or has someone modified it at all? When was it made? Is it standard grade, or some higher grade?

the only ones I ever fiddled with were from the trunk of Sheriff's department cars.
Short barrels, no butt pad & lots of pain!

I wasnt aware that these posts would not come to my email so have been lax in responding to them, sorry.

The Winchester Model 12 is in mint condition. I dont know if it has ever been fired. It doesnt look like it to me.

I dont know when it was manufactured.

It has no modifications and is just like it came from the factory as far as I know. Its a 12 ga full choke 30" barrel 2 3/4" chamber.

It has one feature that seems unique in that I dont see it on any but one of the photos I find on the internet. The wood on the sliding mechanism is ringed with 18 grooves, not 15. The grooves go all the way to the end and dont stop before the forward end. I have not seen this except on one picture and it was on a 16 ga gun, not a 12 ga.
