very safe, reliable and powerful enough for the job you will be doing. Make sure you get some Personal Defense type Ammo. CorBon, Hornaday TPX. Hollow points.

for carry i like single stacks like a khar cause its easier for me to conceal...but glocks are nice too.

Welcome to the site and I will not hold it against you if you buy a glock. LOL I hate glock's that is why I said what I said about glock's. I'm a 1911 or 2011 sytle of pistol.

Good luck finding a gun! Hope you get one soon!

Go for the Glock. You'll spend more time on the range and less waiting for it to be repaired than with a 1911. heh heh heh.

Welcome my name is jon but I go by Solid Snake here,Snake for short or SS. Anyhoo Im not much on Glocks but I do like a few of them. Im more of a wheel gun myself. Try a S&W in .357 or a Colt Python in .357. Just my 2 cents I reckon.

a few have told me the glock 19 is a good gun to get i had a few ppl tell me a S&W model 9ve allied forces, double A was good as well...ill most likely hit a range and try both and a few out more seem to favor the glock 19 between here and other ppl I know. My main concern was that it meets:
"...the only firearms that may be carried are a .38 caliber revolver; or a .380 caliber or 9-millimeter semiautomatic pistol; or a .357 caliber revolver with .38 caliber ammunition only."
Main reason getting it is for a job, and pleasure too of course lol

as long as they start with .4 I carry a beretta 9000s but glocks aren't allowed out here.

Post a few pics of it before and after. BTW I took pics of my higgins in a send of camera. When I get time Im gonna send it to get devoloped and I will post pics of it.
BTW you can see it when it was still in greasypaws place. Look through his pics. He did clean it up for me and then me and my friend cleaned it more and put a forend on it.

For the price a Taurus wont do you wrong I have a PT145 Pro that I use as my main carry and the price and power are just right, and it shoots straight.

Welcome to the site. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. As you're seeing here, there are a lot of really good people who will make you feel welcome. As far as what gun to buy - shoot as many different ones as you can, then choose the one that fits your hand best & with which you score best. Also, be aware of the reliability record of all of them. That's not nearly the problem that it once was, since the quality & reliability of the semiautomatic pistols from major manufacturers has improved considerably over the last few decades. If you have questions about the reliability records, ask on this site. There are many, many years of experience represented here & people are glad to help. Beware of the gunshop owners who try to sell you a gun just because it's the one he needs to move. Sometimes they've had the gun for a long time & their money is just sitting there on the shelf. They'll blow smoke up your ass so that they can make a sale. They want to move it so they can take your money & invest in something else. If you have any questions as to your personal ability to judge things like that, try to find an experienced gun owner that you can trust & take him with you to the shops. Make sure that you completely understand how to disassemble & reassemble the gun before you buy it, then after you buy it go through the disassembly/reassembly routine over & over until it becomes second nature to you. I may go a bit overboard on this, but I clean after every time I fire a gun. If I only fire a few rounds I may just field strip it to clean, but if I fire a lot I'll completely disassemble it & make sure that every surface is clean, & that everything is functioning as perfectly as it can.
