I discovered this board a few days ago and I can't wait to soak up some knowledge from you guys. I am strictly a sport/recreation shooter, but love guns and can't get enough of them. I have a small collection that is quickly growing.

can someone help me post pictures...i am used to forums where you can just post up the img link off of photobucket and everything is gravy. i tried this on here and no images showed...thanks in advance.

Ok here we go. In the upper right corner is your screen name, click and a list drops down. On the list shows "create/upload" click on that. Then click on image. Then next page at the top will have the title for your pic, type what ever you want. Scroll down to the section that is labeled "image" with a browse button off to the right side, click in the field of the area to the left of the browse button and find your pic then click on the "save" button and it will post.

Nice, no worries, gotta love it. They are talking about possible rain all next week for us. I like the rain. The only problem is, no one here can drive in the fucking rain. In a typical weekend when it rains there are 300 to 400 accidents. I just don't get it. I have gone out in the rain at night and gone well over 100 mph and I don't crash. These people can trash their cars in bumper to bumper traffic.

That was hairy sometimes with the trucks trying to blow us off the road
Oh yeah we were pulling a trailer also

motorcycle safety course on Feb 2. I've never driven a motorcycle in my life, but with 330 days a year of sunshine, I'm looking forward to it. Here's a question about that. I know different bikes handle differently, and I fully expect to lay my bike down because I will actually ride it, but what should I do? Buy the bike I want so I can get used to its handling characteristics, or buy a cheap ass dirt bike to get used to shifting? I already found a Harley softail that's calling my name, but I don't know which is more important. Handling, or learning to shift until it's second nature.

It will only take you a few miles to have the shifting down.
Don't waste money on a 1st bike you don't want, they cost too much

Get a cheap ass dual purpose bike like a 250 and do the testing with that. It will give you a chance to get the shifting and all that timing down. This will keep you from trashing something else. Ride the piss out of it and throw it away when you are done. I wish I could SKOOL ya myself!

is it's two full days and they provide the bike and helmet and it's free. I'm really leaning towards CW's thought, as that's what the guy at the Harley shop said (got it, he's trying to make a sale), and that's what my wife wants me to do. They have a matte black Fatboy, which has always been the bike of my dreams, and a blue softail B2, or V2, or something 2 that is just amazing looking.

I posted a picture of that bike parked in front of a Nevada whorehouse. :<)
The bike before that was a Yamaha XS 650 I bought from a guy out your way.
