Greetings all. I enjoy reading the comments about various weapons. I personally own a 12 ga. Mossberg 500, a 7.62x54R M44 that I converted into a "scout" type rifle, a baby Desert Eagle in 40 S&W and my favorite, a Springfield Armory 45 cal custom target model.

Thank you for your service to our great country. Nice collection of guns. Sounds like a consensus on here. A shooty, 2 pistols and an semi auto of some type. I guess that is why 90 million Americans own 300 million guns.
Like I say play nice liberals, because we have all the guns.

Bang on my friend, it is just after 5.30pm, dark outside already (gets dark at aboput 4pm now unfortunately).

Nice, 65 degrees huh, it is about 38 degrees over here and dry, not far above freezing this evening and it will get colder still.

I sure do wish that too, hence why I look forward to my yearly jaunt over the pond!

The "bang on" thing, we have a couple of british reporters on Fox news that most of us watch over here.. Think thier UK affileate is sky news.. Anyway most of us angliphiles who were raised on old brit movies and MG's
(TF, TC, A&B) Triumph (Bonies and TR3&4)Morgans, and old Jags (C&D and all the 120,140,&150)have this romantized vission of the UK, and the Gun control stuff just sucks pard... I mean comon ..you guys make the Holland and Holland, and James Purdys... How can this be brother.. We need to all sit down in a pub, drink a couple of pints and talk about it..

Indeed, we do have some decent old cars. I'm quite partial to 1970's Rovers myself, partly because they had V8 engines, but mostly because they look fantastic.

There are a fair few areas our languages differ, it amuses me when folk get confused when I'm in the states. The Yorkshire accent, in particular the North Yorkshire accent is fairly unique.

Where abouts in AZ do you reside?

Were about half way between Wickenburg and Prescott. out side a little town of Yarnell... No stop signs, but post office and couple bars and Churches.. 1 restraunt.. Our little burg of Peelples (correct sp) Valley is 5 miles N of Yarnell.. one little general store. All Ranch area, except for a few houses up in the Mt's .. We have an acre and great views, in the pines (Weaver Mts) mule deer, Javalina (type of wild pig) its great cept a LONG LONG way to buy anything. or get med treatment.. This unfortunatly is stuff you deal with as you age.

That sounds really nice, out in the sticks and all that!
I loved Arizona when I visited in 2003, will be returning to show the other half Monument Valley and take her to see Phoenix, Lake Havasu City (with London Bridge of course) and possibly the Grand Canyon.

I think next years plans will include Florida, as this year it was the west coast and LA. We did visit Death Valley this year, but it was nothing (in my view) like as spectacular as Monument Valley.

I have to say the Getty Centre was a highlight and the other half loved the beaches around Santa Monica!

If you do come to AZ, obviously you will get a rental out of sky harbor in Phoenix. Check the map were on hy 89 south of Prescott, and equidistant from lake Havasu, and Grand canyon. Yep Monument valley is beautiful.
The wife and i have two spare bedrooms, and as ive told you we have a range 3 mi away.. tho i usually just drive up in the mts a ways to shoot.. good chance for you to fire working P22 (have two) and some old stuff.. Imagine firing a hundred year old gun my friend... Old Colt pocket 32 or any number of 38's no rifles of note. but lots of handguns to pack up in an old smoken diesel (your chance to drive a big truck besides a ram). Love to have you stop even for a day should you come out..

That sounds superb Greg - would have to leave the other half somewhere though - she hates guns and always wait's outside ranges when I shoot. Kind of annoying having to shoot on my own so some like minded shooting would be great.

All I need to do now is persuade her that going out west again is a good idea! Disney in Florida is a big draw for her however, it will be difficult!

Heck, this could even be part of a day trip if you drive on 89 were talking stoping for lunch, the wifes could chat about what ever. Yeah like that could ever be anything but how crazy thier respective hubbys are.. No NO Im telling you mines nuttier than yours.. hear them now.. So let them have fun while we drive up the mts or down to the range. I go about 3 times a week so not a deal at this end. Anyway keep us posted.. Dont bother responding now (unless pm) as it will get lost, as im getting off, its time to get lunch.. later to all..

I love old architecture myself. But, when it comes to beaches, Kalifornia beaches suck. I have been able to go to a lot of tropical countries in the far east. They have nice beaches, such as Thailand, Australia, Phillipines, and so on..... Makes Kali beaches look like toilets. Every year there are quarantines of some of our beaches due to sewage spills. Somehow these "accidents" happen every time it rains.

It is funny you say that about the beaches. We noticed on Santa Monica beach that there was a fair amount of rubbish there on an evening, which looked as though it had been washed up by the tide.

When we went to Seal beach however, it was much different - perhaps less sewage outlets in that area!

Funny how most of us gun guys are car nuts as well. Top gear is a must watch at our home, and this the wife does enjoy.

Top Gear was pretty decent, a good start top the latest series.

I noticed that, cars and guns going well together. So I take it you get Top Gear over there too? Brilliant entertainment, James May is the funniest me thinks.

All three of the guys crack me up, i think one of the funniest things ive ever seen on tv was when they each picked an old beater and drove them across Africa. If youve seen it I'm sure you remember. And the one when they made "amphibious" cars was pretty good, one of them had a couple of big outboard motors hung off the back of a Toyota, said the weight distribution was sorta like having a couple of Americans in the back.
