So I have a theory on how this NY Times reporter may have escaped. HE DIDN'T. The Taliban realized they and the NY Times are on the same side and the reporter was there as a guest and finally decided to head home.

"I have always been a soldier. I have known no other life. The calling of arms, I have followed from boyhood. I have never sought another." From The Virtues of War, by Steven Pressfield.

reporter Escapes

There are some aspects of this story that are hard to believe. 1.) The fact that they crawled over their captors stone wall (You mean that 12ft wall with, thorns, broken glass, intrusion sound makers etc.)( Oh, and how about the fucking dogs that will eat you for looking at them.)( I guess they paid everyone to loose the chains or turn the other way). Then made their way through Taliban Territory to freedom. 2.) Their driver didn't want to come with them because he had joined the Taliban (huh, you told the guy you were escaping?). Well I am glad to see they are out of captivity.

(You have to look behind all of that outer space stuff)
