Not only am I new to the site, but I'm new to the world of guns. The way our politics are going in the US, I've decided to purchaing a gun or 2 before our next president (Obama) tries to take them away. So I need all sorts advice. I'm looking to purchase a couple of handguns and maybe a semi auto or shotgun. I'm am retired Air Force and have shot weapons while I was active duty. So I do have experience shooting. Welcome to Gunslot. What kind of pistols are you looking for? Shotgun I would go with a Mossberg 500 or a Remington 870. There are a lot to chose from for a semi-auto. You have AK,AR,Mini-14,SKS just depends on what you want and how much are you willing to spend. Will be glad to help you if I can, and I know the other guys will too. Again welcome.

if you're worried about weapons bans... look into any assult rifle with a hi cap detachable mag. they will be the first to go (along with large caliber rifles like .50bmg etc... and ALL class 3 weapons). shortly followed by handguns, then semi auto and tactical shotguns.
