Welcome to the site, from North West Florida.

Nice! I would LOVE to work in the panhandle, they don't play with inmates there.

Welcome and happy shooting.
I actually live right in front of the Sebring race track. I can put my tv on Speedvision and open my back porch door and here the track announcer call the race. Love it!

Reminds me of a game we play with the Gkids when they visit..This is usually in the middle of "go fish", and of course the little snots (5 & 8) are better at it than we are. So to distract them we play "politeness boy and girl".. The whole point it to be disgustingly over the top.. Gets pretty funny cause their smart enough to come up with some winners.. eg.. from the older one.. "your so very, very, welcome my much loved, and caring grandmother" The most sickening wins the game, neat thing is that when they see an over the top scene on TV they call out "politeness boy and girl"
Besides giving you all an example of the high stress exciting life we live, this goes to show... uh nothing.. Just goofy grandad talk with Daisy.. In the less goofy realm.. Lou you have to take it easy with my boy Matt.. A he's a fellow corrections pro..B. he lives in Sebring.. (daisy and i are old sports car nuts matt) back in the fifties and sixties their were two main sports car races..Le mans and Sebring.. Were talking back in the skinny tire day, and i think that at the time it was still an airstrip when they weren't racing.. To complete my ramble we did a trip to PHX yesterday.. all the NASCAR trucks were heading towards us out of town for Vegas.. Neat to watch the race, amazing to count the big trucks.. Seemed most of NASCAR sprint traveled together.. we saw 7 maybe 8 of these big rigs, real neat tractors.. Couldn't catch what they were..all chrome grills ..mac maybe.. don't know but didn't look like the usual Peter/Ken/Volvo.. Then the team trucks all of which had spotless trailers.. Besides being interesting, it made the trip fun.. Course there was the parade of circuit following RV's to.. Suggest to Gloria that maybe we could get an RV (were driving a big 3/4 diesel right) and try that out for part of the year.. Got a look like i'd just suggested we build a spaceship in the garage.

greg, when my puppy grows up to an age where he or she can grasp the idea ill play with him/her.seems a good way to practice being nice to people, and I'm hoping to have a child that all other parents say i wish my kid was that well behaved!thanks for the idea.
greg az
That wasn't the point of it.. Just one of those goofy things that happened after hours of play.. Daughter is a school teacher, and the kids have a good vocabulary (yeah im bragging..their normal kids) anyway "mom" likes to challenge them so they jumped all over the game.. but whats cool is that now when they see something "over the top" on tv or what ever thats what they call it, so really is a lesson in sincerity.. Their at that age when kids (least little girls) get sorta manipulative, so a good check on that as well..
MattyTheJet
I come from a Southern family full of military and police, so good manners were sort of expected. Also it was something they really drilled into our heads in the academy. So, I'm just that way now.
Sebring is an amazing race, an amazing track, too.
greg az
The south has always placed high value on edicate.. One of the things that irritates me is how the media displays the "southern" value system.. For well over a hundred years the Citadel has prepared young men (& now women) for the Military academies better than any other school.. Most of us in the older generation were raised with that same respect for manners.. I knew that calling either Mom or Dads friends by their first name would pretty much bring about the end of the world.
I don't think we've ever asked you what you shoot Matt. What area of our sport do you like the most practical pistol, pistol target, rifle target, beer can mayhem, and whats on the "acquire" list..

There is no kind of shooting I don't like. I especially like my handguns though. Right now my collection includes: Springfield XDM 9mm 3.8, Sistema Colt 1911 .45, Springfield Armory Ultra Compact .45, Charter Arms Undercover .38, Colt Detective's Special .38, Taurus TCP .380, Bersa .380, Rossi Custom .357 magnum 6" stainless steel, Ruger 10-22, High Standard 20 gauge automatic, Arisaka 7.7 rifle (Japanese WWII rifle, awesome gun!) and a couple of ,25 autos my dad used to carry when he carried insurance.
The wish list: Walther PPK, Walther P-99, Smith and Wesson model 29 .44 Magnum, Colt Python .357, Colt SAA .45, AR-15 (any make), AK-47 (Russian preferred)....
LOL, and the list goes on and on and one.....
