Like the reasoning behind a .308 round particlarly the;
m1a socom
dpms panther .308
scar H

but also have heard good things about the;
sig 556
stag arms series

OBTW I'm a lefty. Any suggestions and reasons behind those suggestions from the peanut gallery? Thanks for your time and input.

well... first off, if you can find a scar H (or any scar) buy that sucker!! next, after your exausted from looking for a scar (that you won't find) get the M1A socom. thats a bad mofo. I like the socom II. I have the scout and always wanted the socom II. i also like the sig 556, but like you, I love the .308.
I don't think any of the rifles listed are going to have any advantages for leftys. all safeties, mag releases, ejection ports etc... are going to be set up for rightys
oh, and if you're planning on using it for home defense...I'm glad I'm not you nieghbor!

Thanks for the prompt reply Reaper!
Yeah, I haven't seen any SCAR's for sale, but more are coming!
I know that Stag makes versions of their guns for lefties (switched ejection port, charging handle, etc) Also I know that a lot of current designs have ambi safeties, mag releases, and charging handles, and I just wanted to know if anyone had any "real world" operating experience or know where I can get read honest evaluations for a good .308 chambered rifle.
Sorry for the long post!
Thanks again!
