IN the News today California Senate
While I don't have a problem with a gun being taken away from a convicted felon, this article just makes me wonder what California is trying to work up too. |

I wonder what California will do with the teams of men after they take the guns from the felons. I wonder who they will go after next. I also wonder what sort of police powers they will have. Will thay have search warrents, or will they just be able to kick in the doors of these homes. Having said that, felons have lost the right to own guns as far as I am concerned. My fear is, how will it take for lawfull gun owners to become felons because of new gun laws.

been going on for a while now.they arent out doin no good bad things as far as i know yet at least.it is scary knowing there is a gun collecting gestapo out there, but cali is at least doing somthing pro active towards taking guns "out of the wrong hands" but some of the things they can pull your rights for is stuff any man id call a man would consider to be guy stuff.most importantly though i think we need to see how they treat soldiers with "P.T.S.D" seems nearly and combat vet these days is in that category, and that is all they need to revoke your rights as if they were a privilege.

Thats stupid.we all know that criminal are not.suppose to have guns.but they are using this as a front to.enter homes.and confiscate....i think the shit has started....is like cops saying you will get arrested for dui. We all know this

I really hope, you are not saying that I am stupid. My point was that I think this a first step to bigger things, that is how they always work.

If they only go after the "bad guys" then maybe it's not a bad thing. However, do you or anyone else trust the government to do this honest and above board? Are they going to raid people who have weed in violation of federal law? The purpose of limited government is that it's power is constrained. The government cannot maintain a no fly list properly, what makes this infallible so that someone is not deprived of their property wrongly? Law enforcement has a tough job but that is the price of freedom.

Laws prohibiting felons from having guns are already on the books. Are they going to start searching felons homes for weapons now? Also there are degrees of felons. Some felonies so minor that it is to the point of being cruel and unusual punishment. If convicted you can never hunt, you can never have a felon live in your home unless your guns are always kept locked in a safe. Samples of minor felonies; you accidentally spit on someones face during a conversation you could be charged with 4th degree assault, a felony. Ever smoke a doobie back in the 60's? wasn't a misdemeanor back then. Girlfriend is pissed because you looked at another woman and tells cops you hit her. Doesn't matter if she recants at your trial if cops see any kind of a mark on her you will be found guilty unless you can afford 40 grand for a decent lawyer. Otherwise domestic violence conviction bans you from guns forever. I think there should be some recourse for certain felons to have their rights restored

I truly beleive this is how they get their foot in the door. Say they pass a law that gun owners have to register this, or pay that, etc, and you don't, then bang, you are now a felon and they have teams already in place to come after you.

this IS how they get their foot in the door.always devide and conquer for instance most of us belive felons SHOULD lose their rights at least some of them.....but they categorize soooooo manty things as a fellony or violent misdemeanor that it is hard to have even a self defense confrontation and escape assault charges in ca.then you have the division they drive between hunters who se no "NEED" for AR15s etc. as far as sweeps go,as far as i know they only actively sweep while you are still on parole, but they are always looking for info on anyone who has already been in the system,so they can bust them for violation and pull them back in,only to release them because of lack of funds so they can do it all over again
