I have one on the Glock. I am highly underwhelmed. Sucks in daylight, eats batteries, sometimes hard to find the dot. I am taking it off or trading it. But it is an older model. I have heard but not seen the green dots, newer for daylight. I think the Tricon (sp) day night sights work better.

I am not a fan of lasers or night sights, I believe in a good flashlight. Lasers are just one more thing to malfunction and batteries die. Night sights are novelties at best, serve very little practical purpose to me anyway.
So as far as lasers go, I have owned several in the past, I own none now. Nuff said.
But to each his own, just cause I dont like em doesnt mean they are bad or pointless. just not for me.
I have a SureFire 6Z combat light with an LED insert. 150 lumens for 4 hrs of runtime, I love it and practice with it often, thats my recommendation, whatever you choose to carry, PRACTICE with it

I was on a taurus web-site and a very knowledgable dude was talking about those green- dots. he says they last a goodwhile and are pretty cheap.i guess you apply them yourself.....i'll have my friend do it.i tend to be a tad impatient.

Welcome Thumpdog. I haven't used lasers much, but I bought one for my new Taurus. I figured for home defense, if anyone breaking in saw that green dot coming for them they would be more likly run away, than stand by, rather than me messing up the house or my wife creating new holes in the wall to patch. I hope I never have to find out, but I'm counting more on the physiological aspect, than the aiming aspect. Other than that, I don't see much use for them myself. When I get home I'll figure it out.
ebear, I just bought a Taurus PT24/7 OSS when I was home on leave in OCT. I loaded 200 rounds and fired them all in 20 minutes. I love my taurus. I had to leave for Djibouti the next day, but I'm sure looking forward to getting back to my sweety. And my wife!
