I think KN's saber rattling is mostly bluster, and certainly a delaying tactic . After all they are infamous for that. I base my point on two things. (1) It is summer time and I don't believe they can effectively use the Armor component of a necessary Armor/Infantry attack to carry out an offensive. Why not? Rice paddies everywhere and only a few north/south MSR's. Plus they would have difficulty moving their Artillery (they may still have more Artillery tubes than the U.S.). (2) If they want to occupy KS, which they do (industry) they would not want to waste a lot of profitable space (nuclear). (You have to look behind all of that outer space stuff)

Surely we have a big 'ol stockpile of Tomahawk cruise missiles neraing thei expiration date. Better to use 'em up, I say. Hell, why do you think we're sending an unmanned vehicle to the moon? NK can't even get their missiles to the grocery store on the corner, and we can get ours to an orbiting body in space. Hah hah, FUCK YOU, KIM!! Ah, I guess I should specify which Kim, huh? I just said "fuck you to about 70% of the Korean people.

From a Naval blog: Information Dissemination
"The U.S. military is seeking to intercept a flagged North Korean ship suspected of proliferating weapons material in violation of a U.N. Security Council resolution passed last Friday, FOX News has learned.
The USS John McCain, a navy destroyer, will intercept the ship Kang Nam as soon as it leaves the vicinity off the coast of China, according to a senior U.S. defense official.
The ship left a port in North Korea Wednesday and appears to be heading toward Singapore, according to a senior U.S. military source. The vessel, which the military has been tracking since its departure, could be carrying weaponry, missile parts or nuclear materials.
I would not have thought this would be our course of action. I would have thought we would let Singapore authorities board the ship for inspection when it arrives, and let them exercise their legal authority to support the UN resolution."

ryo always get little bit nervous when it come to north korea. sabre rattling is one thing, but this country is run by a madman and it impossible to know what man with unhinge mind might do neh. kim jong il scare me to distraction just cause is so unpredictable. boarding that ship could have grave consequences. not that we shouldn't do it, but we should be prepare for anything that might happen after. and btw, am sure if it enter singaporean waters the singaporeans would not hesitate to stop, board and search that ship.

IMO, its the chinese and what they will let the north get away with..i see no reason and no win for them other than an old man wanting us to respect them. there is nothing for them to win, what is the prize.??
LittleDragon
question is how many billion dollars does he want this time to settle down for while until that money run out and he do something to stir up trouble again to get more billions. ryo think we put up with it because their are people starving and hopefully the money will trickle down enough to feed at least some of them. but sooner or later he will get bluff call and heaven only know what will happen then. it the chinese that have nothing to gain. this just ryo opinion of reading history and reading current events.

I know since President Ford's executive order against assassinations of foreign leaders, taking Kim out is not going to happen. You historians here can jump in on this if I'm incorrect, you know more than I do about these things, but to me, targeting Kim specifically would be the easiest solution. He is a madman. He has been popping his head up for decades causing trouble now and then. Of course, who's going to take over. His son just might be bitter about somebody taking out his old man. Family is funny that way. Just my thoughts.

You are correct there was an E.O.,that stated the U.S. would not assassinate, nor plan the assassination of any foreign state leader. That is a fact I know well. I and everyone I worked with signed a briefing statement to that effect.

Pull out of South Korea, let the north invade, the North will win, and we get our Samsung phones even cheaper due to forced labor. Everybody wins. Well except for the South Koreans, but our phones and TVs will be cheaper so to hell with them.

if korea invades maybe we can get some new episodes of M.A.S.H.
