Hey Dp how are you?
I was reading and someone posted a reply saying "they feel safer" now that the guns are locked up in the back of the train. If a gangbanger came on the train, I don't think they are going to sign some paperwork and lock up the weapon. Now since the possible perp has a weapon, don't you feel safer knowing he is the only one WITH a gun?

As we reported in last week's Grassroots Alert, on December 10, the U.S. House of Representatives approved an NRA-backed amendment, introduced by U.S. Senator Roger Wicker (R-Miss.), to allow Amtrak travelers to transport firearms in checked baggage where checked baggage service is available. The Wicker amendment was included along with several government agencies' appropriations bills in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2010.
The Firearms Owners' Protection Act protects law-abiding gun owners from local interference when traveling by car, and the Transportation Security Administration has rules for transporting guns in checked baggage for those traveling by air. But for nearly a decade, those who travel by train have been prohibited from bringing firearms on board Amtrak. The Wicker Amendment will fix that problem.
A modified version of the amendment was included as one of the six appropriations bills considered as an omnibus spending package. The measure was passed by both houses of Congress and was signed into law on Wednesday, December 16.

DP, money is tight and Christmas is going to suck for us, but the kids understand and we go on. At least I'm paying the bills. I'd rather have a place to live, than another outta control credit card payment. Our government is so good at contradicting itself lately, everyone is fighting everyone else on who has the power over whom, they spend way too much time bickering, instead of just looking at what works.

My family has got so big we can't buy Christmas anymore.
We do have a big dinner at one of our houses and everyone
brings one gift with a $10.00 limit. Men bring a mans gift etc.
We always take up a collection if it be 1 dollar or 100 dollars
and send it to Saint Judes Childrens Hospital.
I know there are many good chairities out there but the reason
we have picked Saint Judes is I had an uncle get killed on
Dec 24 and the last check he had written was to Saint Judes.

St Jude Hospital in Orange County saved my life, I donate to them all the time. I had no money, or insurance years ago. They took me in as a basket case. Didn't charge me a dime. Three days in ICU and a week in a room, specialists and everything, They were my saving grace back then!
