Old W. German Sig Sauer P220, new magazines?
So I just picked up an Older(1992) west german made Sig Sauer P220 in .45 acp. All I need to know is if anyone else has a West German made P220 and if the new sig factory mags work well with them. I dont have the european heel mag release so I think they should work just fine. The old ones I havent tested yet but they feel like they might have problems, idk. They dont look like they have been used much if any at all, but the way the rounds seat in the mags just seems weird to me but maybe its normal. Also they are a friggin pain to unload them. Anyone who can help me out I would appreciate it. Im glad to have finally gotten ahold of a west germany made sig, as they are boasted as some of sigs highest quality of handguns ever produced, and they are made in WEST Germany which is going to make it rare down the road since Germany is no longer divided into West and East Germany you wont find these too easily later on down the road. Man that thing look sweet. I would be willing to bet you are right about the mags. From my understanding if it doesn't have the heel mag release you are good to go...

Brother has both, well three 220's really including the 220 SAOSRT SuperSport
Oh and the Eruo mag release can be almost as fast if you practice it enough..

I picked up a new factory mag and it fits just fine. I'll have to get out and shoot this puppy soon and let everyone know how it does.

Well I went to the range and shot the old P220 and I have to say I was impressed. o problems what so ever, very accurate very smooth recoil... very nice. Put about 200 rounds through it no problems.

As a LEO I carried the same gun but with a satin nickle finish. Loved it! I've never seen another like it. Two months ago I passed on an as-new-in-bow P226 also satin nickle for $800.00. I'm still sick I didn't take it. The older Sigs seem (to me) to be of better quality.

Price is a bit on the high side unless it was an Elite, but still a very sweet weapon...

But the newer are just as good mechanically.
I'd like to find a p245 and also the M2 in 40 or 45.
I kinda like that sub compact 220 (p245) and the Mauser M2 which Sig made on License to Mauser is just different.
