Looking to buy a Walther P99 in 40 cal. Has anyone owned one and if so, how well do they fit in the hand, reliable are they, accurate, etc?
I usually prefer other handguns over walthers, especially for the price, but I do like the P22. I know there are a few people that have the P99 around here... demo maybe?
I have one and I love it as far as fit, (it comes with 3 different palm swells, or whatever they're called.) accuracy is great too. I've put about 200 rounds through it with no problems. The only thing I question about it is the durability of the sights, particularly the front sight. They are plastic and don't appear to me to be able to withstand alot of beating and banging. The rear sight can be pushed ever so slightly side to side. Mine came with three additional front sights, haven't measured them but two seem to be slightly taller than the other wich is probably the same size as the one that is currently on pistol. I pack it around in an inside the the waistband holster and have done practice draws with it and haven't noticed anything move. I love the trigger in it, the sights line up well and I can shoot it best of all my pistols so far. I would recommend this gun for a conceal carry but maybe not competition shooting although I've found it to be quite accurate.
