Orange lube on Glock
Do you remove this before the first time you fire it? It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses |

if it came on the glock, leave it on there. It should have came ready to fire right out of the box.

Exactly what I'd thought. And what many have told me. But this guy http://glockparts.com/page/mimj/FAQS.html Claims that you must remove it and that it is Berillyum....I emailed him and told him politely that he was incorrect, he however maintains that he is correct. Hence, I ask all of you......

Under "Cleaning the Field Stripped Pistol", Slide:
"Note that the copper colored lubricant found on the portions of the slide of brand new GLOCK pistols should not be removed, as it will help to provide long term lubrication of the slide".
