Right on, I ran 50

through the 1911 after work, that is a smoooooth mother fucker. Trigger pull is like butter and the weight distribution is just right to counter the recoil, I love this gun!!!

Not bad for a stock $600 1911!

Can't argue with that

I think I've seen a higher percentage of 1911s fail at the range than I have Hi-Points.

find myself fighting off the Glockaroos.........I think that I will end up wearing the 1911 in a sling as the barrel is a tad long for an IWB, when sitting all day, but we will see.

If you ever play scratchers and you haven't bought one of the gag tickets for your wife, you're missing out. I bought one from a gas station and gave to my wife. All of them look real and they're all winners. My wife scratched it off and started running around the house screaming "I won 25,000 dollars! I won 25,000 dollars!" My attempt to stifle my laughter, while Hurculean in effort, failed miserably, so she caught me laughing about the time she was getting ready to do a backflip and was really mad. It was oh so worth it. It wasn't until a few days later that I realized she was running around screaming "I won 25,00 dollars", and not "WE won 25,000 dollars". Bitch.

Revolvers outnumbered them in police departments. Spears have been around for thousands of years, but better things came along. Same with 1911s and Glocks. 1911 was good for the time, but has since been outclassed.

has to be turned into a Glock. Which makes me think (Uh oh, the two brain cells are coming together. RUN!!!!!), what if Glock made a 1911? would it be the most reliable out of date piece of shit ever, or the most beautiful, refined, piece of combat tupperware ever? I bet it'd confuse the shit out of people.

Browning's Glock

The slide to barrel lock on the Hi-Power is similar to that of the Glock, but the 1911 isn't even close.

and fired three others (One Colt, two Kimbers). I love the way they feel, but in my range time training with other shooters for action pistol shooting, 1911s are always at the top of the list when it comes to malfunctions. I guess my comments are badmouthing, but the fact is the Glock is a superior combat handgun (as is the Sig, the Beretta, the XD, and the HK), and I won't make any attempt to disguise my thoughts on that.

Keep in mind, none of this is directed at you personally, as your choice in guns is strictly yours and should not be influenced heavily by a bunch of words on a computer screen, so no insult is intended. Everybody has their favorite guns

It's just that if it isn't a Glock or XD, it's the wrong choice

Got a tad scared when one of the "reg's" (i'll hold the boys name, cause he's a good guy) posted a link (Dave this happened bro) to a womens shoe/boot company earlier.. I havn't checked the thread yet, so this might be that dead horse thing..If so sorry, but wow was it weird in here earlier..

I love the 1911's, always have, always will.. Carried the Glock (ok not every day as a shift Lieutenant, but dozens of times) qualified with it for a decade.. Have absolute respect for it being a superb weapon system.. That being when i pick it up i feel like im picking up a tool, a well functioning (the whole point huh) tool.. BUT .. Absolutely no emotional connection.. When i pick up ANY 1911 i get a Woodie.. Same thing with a Browning hi power.. Same thing with any old Colt or Smith revolver, and that REALLY applies to a big N frame or 1917, (smith or colt new service)..

So if your looking for function.. pretty easy.. looking for soul.. Then a 1911 or maybe the four tops, or the Temptations... (i heard it thru the grape vine).. but i digress.. Which still beats the u know what outa posting links to womens shoe stores (the one that did it.. i love ya don't get all butt hurt, (only make Ebear hornier).. OH yeah, hi everybody..

a man has to hold his word, hold his beliefs, and hold a good sight picture.

lines are nice, it just oozes badassness. I think it was Larry Vickers who said something along the lines of if you treat your gun like you treat your lawnmower, get a Glock. It's true. My G34 has a bit more grace to it, looks a bit more sexy, than standard Glocks, but it's still ugly compared to many others. I think I love the Glock specifically for its utilitarian qualities.

Just wish

that there were things available for the P345. Ruger is a nice pistol, mine is in no way shape or form fussy, more accurate than I am. It is pretty bulky compared to the 1911. & to an old Colt combat commander man the double/single action is a little weird to get used to. But I do like it & carry it regularly, on the belt & IWB.
