Paddle Holster Recommendations
First of all, hi. Second of all, I'm looking for a good paddle holster for my Sig P220 Elite Dark that will spare the finish of the gun. Yes, it's my "Ranch Carry" firearm of choice, but I like to take care of my stuff and would love to see the finish of the gun preserved. The problem is that most paddle holsters I've had experience with seem to strip the firearm of their finish over time. Thoughts? |

I posted a list of holster manufacturer websites for you to check out,i'm sure some of the guys will chime in on their preferred rigs.I have been using Kydex for the last couple years myself.Happy hunting.

Welcome. Try a local saddle maker. They'll make what you want. Tanned leather is best.
I have 2 holsters, both full grain leather. Not a sign of wear on the pistols. (you can see the revolvers in my pictures).
30 years with the Dan Wesson and the holster. Not daily carry mind you.

I personally use a standard Fobus adjustable tension holster. I carry a glock 23 and have no wear on the gun after aprox. 2 years. There is one very small place on front of the trigger guard where the pistol slides over the retaining buldge, that has worn the plastic shiney but its probably less than 1/8 of an inch spot. Over all very happy with the setup.

Welcome, Texas. We are neighbors. I use the leather 1/2 holsters on small to full size and they work great for me. Good luck.

Blackhawk SERPA for the SIG 220, they work extremely well.

Lucky...quite the list, thanks.
Vaquero, Shug - I'm not really thinking that a belt loop leather holster will fit my needs here...I'm looking for something with the quick on/quick off of a paddle.
ishoot - Blackhawk Serpa is actually my current top choice...glad to see it recommended here. But I'm assuming you have to buy CQC Serpa and then add on the paddle as an accessory?
I wish that they made their duty holster compatable with a paddle...but from what I can tell, they don't. I like full length slide protection on the duty version.
Glad we have the Houston gun show today to look around!

Texas, good luck at the show. Wish I didn't have to work. Hope you find a holster but even if you don't you'll have fun just lookin!
Ishootdaily
No, it comes with both Paddle and Belt

Thanks for the help guys! Picked up a Serpa at the gun show. Seems to be exactly what I'm looking for.

Woo Hoo! Way to go. Lot of people at the show? It should have been well attended being cold and dreary like today was.

Try this company. They will make exactly what you want!

They will add lining to the holster, make it the color you want, or even add a couple of inches to protect your gun.

I agree. Get the Serpa. Its a good holster. Just make sure to run a T shirt or rag through it every night when you get home to remove all the loose dust and dirt that collects inside the holster. If you don't do it, that grit will be like sand paper on your slide because it has no where to go.

try Crossbreed. Good leather, and the Supertuck goes inside your clothes, is VERY comfortable, and doesn't scratch a polymer frame.
Of course, I use an Uncle Mike's for my phosphate-coated 1911, but I don't carry it daily.
