Good evening guys.. I have to be honest, this sure feels odd after a 2-3 month hiatous..
(hmmm, couple of notes here.. first off, i see i don't have a spell check on my tool bar, so gosh arent we all lucky huh..) second thought is how to address this whole hiatous (like theres a chance thats spelled half ass right)
Sometimes the best way to handle an issue is to jump in feet first.. so here goes.. for a year and a half or so this place was home.. thats crap, it was much, much more than home.. Then i hugged you all and said goodby.. So much for our Sunday night history lesson, lets jump to current events.. I spoke to pard tonight (thats vaquero for you new kids) and he told me about Bob..
I know all you old timers remember that my brother Gary was going thru some hard times, as it happens both Bob Ecaman, and brother were the same age.. I'm sorry to report that we lost Gary yesterday, and when i heard this about Bob i thought the least i could do was offer a sincere prayer..
When i was going thru some rough times with prostate cancer Bob exchanged a lot of pm's that were "prayer" based.. Pretty funny actually, he told me in one that he had enlisted his sisters in the effort as they were a "tad" better at it than he was.. (they worked by the way)
Bob and Gary shared a healthy distrust of those who wore thier faith on thier sleve, and both were logic grounded to the point of having a few unresolved questions on this whole "faith" issue.. They also shared fine minds, and i think both of them shared another quality..
They honestly were damn good Men.. I sure wish i could share with Bob some of the respect i had for him.. The believer in me knows he's aware of it. For those of you that didn't know Bob, spend a couple of min. reading his posts and i think you will come away with a respect for him he deserves..
I know a lot of you are aware of N frames, and the alphebet soup that make up S&W's line up, the neat thing about Bob was that since he was also an FFL dealer, he not only knew why a triple lock was a triple lock, but when Springfield made them, and how much they were worth..
I'm not going to spend any time talking about my brother, outside of saying that he was a mustang O, and the best brother any guy could ask for. Thats all family stuff, and Gary was not much of a contributer to the site.. Bob was..
God bless you Robert.. you will be missed.. I know our Lord heard your prayers as he heard your sisters, I pray he hears mine, and ours now.. Two good men, rough, tough, and heaven sent..
a man has to hold his word, hold his beliefs, and hold a good sight picture.
