Padre time..

It's been awile since i put up a prayer.. Told you guys months ago that this would only be an occasional thing.. and i've kept it that way.. To be honest when ever i post any sorta prayer i really try to take ant "self" out of it..you guys know what i mean.. if its devoid of ego, and pure thoughts then i think it's ok.. If it reflects me in anyway then NOPE.. not going to happen.. For you new guys the padre is sorta an "un"official chaplain thing.. Nothing special, but from the heart..So far i think it's worked out ok, and i feel like the good Lord is ok with the whole thing..

As long as i don't offend any of you guys then its good.. The only Problem right now is my spell check is hidden.. by the way if any of you guys know how to make that tool bar reappear let me know.. i had it from google, and i've tried all the usuall stuff to get it back...nope.. and thinking the spelling is more irratating than the prayers so if you have any ideas let me know..

So ..before i pour myself a tall boy (still laughing at Amys cousin comment) here goes..

Dear Lord.. We come to you as a grateful group tonight.. We know that a lot of our little club of rag tag, but honest men and women are dealing with issues.. But we know you hear our prayers, and help us deal with those issues.. You have been with us in so many ways Lord.

Fact is our friendship and kindered spirit are in many ways based on our belief in you..We represent a bit rougher part of society, but a part that is important to protect good people from evil.. We know you might not always like some of our language or humor, but we also know in your infanite wisdom that you know that language and humor brings us together, and makes us a better group thru our kinship.. You see our hearts, and know that while they might not be pure.. they are good, and they share a common desire to rid this world of evil..

We pray that you might watch over all of us who walk on the slightly rougher side of the tracks of life.. and guide us to always keep our humanity, honor, and since of fair play.. that we might protect those who are weaker.. and support others who are on our path with us.. We ask you to share that path, and guide us when we need direction..

We pray that you give strength to our members who are making thier life better right now, by making positive changes in there lifes.. Please give Mike Richards the strength to turn from his problem, and be the great man we know him to be.. Please.. If its your will hold all of us in the palm of your hands... strengthen our friendship, guide us, and yep we sure would appreciate it if you gave us a bit of slack on a few things we need to change.. Speaking as your servent, God bless the great men and women that you have given me as friends.. and we pray hear our prayer, this day and in the future..

We ask a special prayer for those less fortunate than ourself, and that if its your will you might watch over our famillys and loved ones... In your Holy Name... Amen..

Usual check rules apply.... ED, you have no idea how much i appreciate you having that as your quote.. God bless you all...

Thanks Greg

Least for a night anyway... Thought earlier i was going to be with out power, but rain stoped, and power is back on so lifes great.. Pretty neat to have no debates about what to watch, i have nat geo, and mil channel.. cold beer.. ah yes lifes great..

To answer your question.. and glad you read the post... that was real important to me, and loved doing it.. a quality stone is a hard Arkansas.. They get expensive but last forever.. Not really needed unless your going for close to scalpel (hate not having spell check) sharpness, and actually slower to start with as thier used for finnishing not grinding thru a lot of steel..

The glass is the same principle .. your just smothing that edge.. old timers would use glass all the time on razor blades to bring the edge back..

Meant what i said about taking "self" out of it, so best way to leave it is that its a shared thought by all of us.. Don't want to do the "padre" thing to often.. Just when you guys think its time, or.. Heck i don't know.. We just play it by ear, and the man upstairs and it will work out..

Larry, yeah i got into it as i liked blades and felt putting an edge on them was getting to be a lost art... As my post said on it, not the quick sharp'n deal.. thats no biggie, and a lot of ways to get that angle, and an ok edge.. Im talking beyond that to the point that you can easily shave with no pull.. Strage thing is when you get rid of the burrs at the last stage it wont feel as sharp as before stroping and deburring.. those micro burrs are what gives you the "feel" of sharpness.. The cool thing is at that point you can cut yourself with very little pain.. pretty amazing, and obviously it gets your attention QUICK..
