It is an interesting point of view that taking an animal's life is more ethical than building a last resort shelter with adequate staffing that allows the animals to live a comfortable life.

Let's hope that kind of thinking never becomes mainstream, it could then easily jump from animals to sick and elderly people who are "suffering" so it is just better to put them out of their misery.

" is allowed to resist against the unjust aggressor to one's life [...] even 'til the aggressor’s death. In fact, this act is aimed at preserving one’s life and to make the aggressor powerless. Thus, it is a good act" - Thomas Aquinas

1 . The Final Solution...

2. US Eugenics Movement

"Eugenics was the racist pseudoscience determined to wipe away all human beings deemed "unfit," preserving only those who conformed to a Nordic stereotype. Elements of the philosophy were enshrined as national policy by forced sterilization and segregation laws, as well as marriage restrictions, enacted in twenty-seven states. In 1909, California became the third state to adopt such laws. Ultimately, eugenics practitioners coercively sterilized some 60,000 Americans, barred the marriage of thousands, forcibly segregated thousands in "colonies," and persecuted untold numbers in ways we are just learning. Before World War II, nearly half of coercive sterilizations were done in California, and even after the war, the state accounted for a third of all such surgeries."

mind boggling reading on that link and many more on the web, on that topic...
