Phoenix Arms HP 22

I bought one at a yard sale today. Mint condtion used very little. Paid $75 for it. Anyone know any thing on it? Pro's Cons?

I shot a few rounds through it and it seems to jam on the last shot. I was using my favorite brand ammo which is Remingto Golden Bullets 40-gr.

I will say this I feild stripped it to check all the parts just to be safe and well it took an act of got to get it back together. Had a lot of problems with the spring shooting across the room at mach 10....3 times....

Anyways all the info on it that ya all know would be appreciated.

aim small, miss small.Smaller guns are harder to shoot for distance, thats a belly gun, practice point shooting@ a .22 is cheap practice.it's not the guns fault.

Yep saw the patriot was on tv a few minutes ago lol. Ok thats a new term to me. Belly Gun? Is it fro self defense to make gut shots to slow someone down? Oh well its an ok gun to try trick shots with SAFELY of course.

I may end up selling it or trading to somethin sooner or later though. I will see what trader Jerry has to offer for it. I might get somethin out of it.

Snake and LBC

Snake, I hope you agree LBC, when practicing point shooting, also practice from the hip. It makes much more sense from a self-defense standpoint. The gun is more stable, harder for a would-be bad guy to take or deflect, and even if they close on you to take you to the ground, it can still be used on the way down.

yeah ronin

practicing from a stand up "rock and fire",where you rock back to get a bit of distance and point shoot.Tomany people just stand there and punch holes in paper at a range,i'mburnt out on that,i like shooting anything but paper.I believe it was Bill Monson(?) that did can rolling by point shooting,i try that every once in a while with a couple .22 revolvers i own.

my point snakey was the sights are so close together on that phoenix that being off just a fraction on your sight alignment/sight picture is going to throw you way off target, there by only wounding your fruity target.

Yes I agree with the practice but one thing here. I dont think I would trust my life or any of my family's life on the HP 22. I mean heck its a gun,no point in putting it on a shelf and forgeting about it. I will have my fun with it and trade it in on something more reliable in the accuracy. Do you know the value of it? The link that ISD put here says $260 for the range kit but I dont have the range kit. I just got the gun,one mag and the fancy lock. I paid $75 for it at a yard sale do you think I could get atleast $150 on tradin value?

I wouldn't trust my life to it either.... but the fundamentals should be the same as a larger caliber, and is much cheaper to practice with.

Kershaw Blur

I've seen them as much as $125.00 which is a nutter searching for a Squirrel if you ask me.

Wallmart has them for $54.00. Excellent Steel and you can get it in Tanto straight edge or Partial Serated (I carry this one for everything). They also have the Junkyard Dog, Leek, Scallion and a few others all at decent prices.

folder or fixed

I'm looking for a fixed blade, but an every day carry length,if there is such a thing.I saw a serpa holster somewhere that had a knife sheath built into the front, now thats a bit extreme for what i was thinking but i like the concept.I might just have to pull my faithful Buck 110 out of the gunlocker again.

If you'd like to try your hand at throwing one together, these kits are really nice and not expensive at all, you just pick the scales you want on it and put it together....

Best fixed blade I ever carried was a Kbar Little Fin.

Question

Whats the value of my HP 22? It has one mag and the fancy lock. Would I be able to get a .22 revolver out of it if I trade it?

Is that a High Point ? and what year? You are not alkig about Harrington- Posomething? are you I know I can buy a brand new Heritage 22lr w/6" maybe 8" barrell for 189.00 wood grips, haven't a clue if they shoot good or bad or anything about them. But I know the church is having it's annual july4th auction for charity and real auctioneer and guns are always there because a lot of men die before their wives and their wives donate them to auction, and most of the widows I am one of the guys who volunteer to help out with lawns and stuff light work around the husband would normally do. It is the right thingto do guys! these are old people. anyway I usally get a chance to see what they donate to auction off before they actually do. If I see a revolver and it is always the sunday before the 4th, I will let you know. Cabeshe! No paperwork or registration either. John Do not gang up on me

John: No its not a Hi-Point but I tell ya it acts like one. Its made by Phoenix Arms. I tried and tried to hit a target at 20 feet and cant do it. If I knew how I could get it out of my name I would trade it to ya John for an Heritage Rough Rider. I would like to get a hold of a Single Action Revolver in .22. But I dont want to send a Lemon gun to ya unless you want it. I call it a lemon due to the fact it sucks accuracy wise and well like I said I cant hit nothing hardly with it.

Grant: $75 bucks for a mint condition gun aint bad at all. When I bought it I went and got a form to submit it in my name. So if something happend to it say if it got stolen then I could report it as missing and then if someone used it I wouldnt get blamed. As for conceal carry yes I can conceal carry IF i had the paers and liscences. I can also open carry with out any permits. Another thing in VA i can own any gun in the world except the Armsel Striker. I could own full autos if I have permits.Good Ole VA.

Not exactly true.... You still can't own any machine gun made after 1986. Federal law and not decided by state regs, even though it should be.

As for the paper there is none. I put that up there due to the fact I thought all fire arms had to be registered with the stae and buying one at a yard sale I thought that if its not registered then it would be illeagal to own. Sorry for the confusion. If ya all want then the mods can delete the above comment. I will say it again that there is no paper for the pistol. Just said there was to aviod a big freak out due to the gun not being in my name and such. My deepest apologies.
