Picked up a Tantal wz88 today on a trade
Traded a .22 lr conversion for the CZ 75 today and got a CIA Tantal wz88 AK74 for it. Very clean and only has around 300 rounds through it. I'll pickup the mag's for it Tuesday night and all the other crap with it. Should be interesting as this will be the first AK variant I have owned personally. Going to see how it stacks up against the Sig 556 Patrol at 100 - 300 yards. What I would like to know by those of you who are into AK builds. Is this worth attempting to accurize it, such as hunting up a machined receiver and a new set of trunnions and chrome lined barrel? Or just keep it as a fun gun? No sir, he fell into that bullet...
Never argue with a stupid person. They'll just drag you down to their level and beat you with experience!! |

A new barrel is called for without question, seems CAI uses a really soft steel barrel... blech
Oh well, plinker it is for now...

I never really thought much of them, but I think I might start looking around for Ciener conversions for two of my Glocks. Even reloading components are expensive. Might be good for the wallet.

is pretty much a standard swap out on any AK as well

You can shoot the shit out of it and not really hurt the pocket too much...
I double checked and the barrel in the AK is the good one though not chrome lined which I will swap into it later. But it is a 6 groove Rifling and a 1.8 inch twist which should allow all but the lightest of surplus shoot fine through it from what I was told...

The trigger is sweet as hell, smooth and breaks crisply, probably around 3.5 - 4 pounds... Freaked the guys at the range out really. They all got a look at it and started offering money for it on the spot. But, I've wanted one for a bit and cash has been tight because of all the Leather stock I've been ordering in to build up inventory so I can get a site up and running ready to start selling...

than a WASR 47 comes along,i am looking closer at those CETME 308s,thanks for the info you posted on that, seems like a nice entry into the 308 caliber.

Actually that is why HK bought the rights to build it...
That is another I will get when things get off the ground and running...
Another I really want is an AR 18 or AR 180 however one wants to call it. That was one of the Best AR's going really.. Bent receiver and all... Ran like an AK.

I might check it out. My wife already said I can buy an Airsoft G34, so that'll be great for indoor practice.
