do not know if it would do any thing but no one else is trying to bring our boys & girls home and safe!

The question is: what would be the potential tactical and strategic consequences of such an action? [Safe sons and daughters would be wonderful, but not at the expense of homeland attacks that would make the original 9/11 look like childs' play]
EVERY such action will have important consequences, just as going in there, did.
How would that make us look to adversaries on the international scene? What adventurism might that stimulate among those who would view this as lack of resolve and weakness?
Think about what this might mean to Putin, alQaeda, the Taliban, Hamas, Hezbollah, and those crazy Iranians Khomenei, and Ahmedinejad. Think about what that would mean to our FRIENDS.
Think about the good old days before WWII, when we were fat, dumb and happy isolationists. What did that get us??.......until we got kicked in the ass and realized the potential consequences staring us in the face.
The fact is we have already had world war [III] declared on us by diverse Islamo-extremist, jihadist, asymetrical entities, and we have allowed ourselves to become complacent, once more. Have we learned nothing from experience??

Sounds like Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson's manifest destiny of interventionism to be a international police power. This is a position that you condemned on another thread. No matter what we do, the people who see us as their enemy will try to attack us. So how long would you have us over there? Tallguy007, I don't know if I agree with it but God bless and good luck.

Untether our sons and daughters in the military and they will be home soon enough, when the job is complete.

The judgment of how long "I would have us over there" would require a study of highly classified intelligence information, that probably would not be made available to me, since I have not had a high level security clearance for about 20 years.

Petitioning the White House, regardless of your cause, is about as effective as trying to talk a flooding river into returning to it's original level.
