police trade in sig 229 vs. ruger p94
I would like to know your opinion which pistol is the better choice a trade-in police sig 229 or a good used ruger p 94. Thank you for the input. The sig is being offered to me for 400 out the door with four extra magazines. The ruger is being offered at 300 with one magazine. |

Sig....

No comparison. Sig is a far superior weapon in my opinion. 400 is pretty good for the price as long as it has not been tortured. Then again I have nothing good to say about Ruger handguns. Rifles are nice but handguns, not so much.

400 is excellent if it's in good condition with 4 mags? There should be no question in your mind....I almost bought one used in excellent condition a while back for $600 and I thought I was getting a pretty decent deal.

Sig....but check it out very carefully

I agree the sig is superior. However look for signs of excessive wear. A telltale place is where the magazine slides into the handle. you could be looking at a club gun used by thousands that have shot a million rounds thru it. also look at the play on the slide

sometimes all that glitters is not Acapulco Gold

sounds like with the sig youre getting not only a better gun, but a better deal too

Go Sig, Go Sig, Go Sig!!!! I've got a P229, already had some rounds put thru it.... smooth and consistent. Mines a .40, my first .40 it' will be mine until I'm dead..

no question. check to see if its "certified pre-owned". A lot of trade-in go through sig (instead of a dealer), and sig replaces all worn parts and adds a 1 yr. warranty. I bought a cretified pre-owned p229 9mm that was an FBI trade in (because they switched to .40), and everything was in great condition.

Did you get rain up your way. We had a pretty good one last night until early this am. Thanks for keeping Sylvan contained, good job! Have you heard anything on the Kel-Tec Sub2000 9mm? Good, bad or otherwise?

it rained off and on all night. still getting some light showers, even though its sunny outside.
I've never shot the kel tec, I've only seen it in a store, and they have one for rent and one of the ranges I go to. I've never really heard anything about it either. Can you find any reviews online? Are you looking to get one?

carbine or rifle in 9mm. I only need that 100 yard distance for self defense and preservation. Good optics for my old eyes. What intrigued me about the Kel-Tec I can get it in 9mm and will use my Glock19 mags. Economy of scale. By the way. Big 5 Sporting Goods, has Remington 9mm on sale 50 round FMJ for $14.99 today in paper.

I am on several waiting lists. Like Bud's gun, best price, if they had one. I have a daughter who lives in Cocoa Fl, I may send her over to the factory! I am getting desperate.
