I'm sensing a disturbance in the force. Site traffic is obviously down. It is sometimes hours between posts. The 'regulars' seem to be staying away. After a long period of absentee landlordship our owners have made several changes. I know the bar has to make a profit to justify its existence. If the regulars are all expecting free drinks, that's not a sustainable business model. On the other hand, if the bar is deserted, that's also not sustainable.

We've had an unfortunate dust up recently which resulted in our el Presidente more or less leaving the site because of a reduction of his moderator powers. Greasy has "been busy" (his words) and so that leaves reaper the only active moderator. I think he's good, myself. he's pretty benign and doesn't intrude. He probably does a lot of back room work we don't even see. Sytasyn, also a mod, doesn't frequent the site much any more.

So we're essentially down to one bartender with the traffic slowing down. I'm wondering if some of the improvements have had the opposite effect as intended. We've had some very loyal followers on Gunslot and we've had some good times, but I can't help feel that this is slipping away. I hope I'm wrong.

Yes......it is weird right now! I only pop my head in to see who is on and if anyone is talking! Hopefully things will pick back up after Christmas!

I know I'm still getting used to the site changes, but that's not what has been keeping me away. I have also "been busy" with Christmas and work, things should slow down after the holidays. I hope this slow spell doesn't last as the regulars are IMHO what make gunslot what it is and make me want to be on here as often as possible. Was it just sam's moderator powers or all mods powers that got reduced?

as far as I can tell

he has all of the mod functions that he has always had. The last time there were changes on the site, he thought that he had powers taken away from his account as well. Not sure if thats the case now... I missed a couple of days, but from what I can gather, it seems like someone asked him to stop being so trigger happy with the delete button and he took it personal. I may be completely wrong.

my 2 pesos

i think what happened with Sam , was just him being loyal to a friend. Nothing wrong with that. I can understand that...I was loyal to the Sonny &Cher Comedy Hour, But then every other week they had the Hudson Brothers on , and I hated those fucks, So, I switched over to Starsky & Hutch. But then I got caught pleasuring myself to Starsky's blind girlfriend ( remember that episode?) So i went back to Sonny & Cher, And low and behold .....changes.....no more Hudson Brothers!!!!!, But then Carol Channing kept popping up everyother week.....So i guess what im saying is....IM BACK.......Until i get caught pleasuring myself to Badgirl that is.

loyal

not that i am someone here and don't want to be, but i think for the most part everything is handled well. i have only seen one episode that i think maybe should have been ko'd but it wasn't ,and probably rightfully so. i think whomever is doing a good job. this is supposed to be a place to air your opinions wether right or wrong, and be able to tell someone they are wrong. keep up the good work.

2 cents

My two cents are probably not worth much but here goes. I mainly just work, go to church, love my family and country. What a great place to get to talk to like minded people about stuff--mainly guns. But some of ya'll are really funny! When I joined about 6 months ago, I didn't feel included much so I just went away. But I came back and decided to try to contribute and encourage others during these trying times. So, God Bless everyone and hope to talk to ya'll sooner or later.

Being included here

It can be a difficult place for some who come here just to talk about guns. Many of the older members on this site have gone through every gun discussion you could imagine a few times over, and this place, for many, has become almost the online equivalent of a corner bar or VFW, where any conversation goes. I have seen more gun-related conversations lately, I think in large part because of the large influx of new members who actually stick around and post instead of becoming frustrated with ebear's blatant homosexuality and nitris's dog's insatiable desire for dick in its butt.

It probably helps that this site seems more "legitimate" to new users since there's so much gun-related advertising on it now. It is unfortunate that MarvQuin had to soil this site slightly with the Chevrolet advertisement a while back and didn't have Ford instead, but hey, nobody's perfect, right?

Since I have been back, I think my feeling excluded had more to do with the "characters" who have gone on being so busy than it did with being ignored. I have had tons of fun this last month with Gunslot and hope I have been been a benefit to the site. Except for Ebear; I am not thinking I want to be a benefit to Ebear (just messin around Ebear and having some fun).
