I'm sensing a disturbance in the force. Site traffic is obviously down. It is sometimes hours between posts. The 'regulars' seem to be staying away. After a long period of absentee landlordship our owners have made several changes. I know the bar has to make a profit to justify its existence. If the regulars are all expecting free drinks, that's not a sustainable business model. On the other hand, if the bar is deserted, that's also not sustainable.
We've had an unfortunate dust up recently which resulted in our el Presidente more or less leaving the site because of a reduction of his moderator powers. Greasy has "been busy" (his words) and so that leaves reaper the only active moderator. I think he's good, myself. he's pretty benign and doesn't intrude. He probably does a lot of back room work we don't even see. Sytasyn, also a mod, doesn't frequent the site much any more.
So we're essentially down to one bartender with the traffic slowing down. I'm wondering if some of the improvements have had the opposite effect as intended. We've had some very loyal followers on Gunslot and we've had some good times, but I can't help feel that this is slipping away. I hope I'm wrong.
