the project rifle
a few months ago,our favorite Padre was awarded a rifle, which many members had contributed to,and our own Gunsmith-in-charge,Greasypaws rebuilt from top to bottom, just to fill in the new members here.My question is,where is it? I have not seen a photo of it yet with Gregs smiling face beaming down upon it,or the targets from shooting it? Both requirements go unfulfilled to my knowledge,BUT,a lot has happened to Greg and Grease since and i probably know the answer but if all goes well i am really looking forward to seeing the end result of that rifle project. i tried being reasonable,i didn't like it,

Agree would like to se this rifle as well.
greg az
The last thing i want to do is put anymore pressure on him.. Lucky im with ya here, sorta excited myself for the obvious reasons.. Pard even sent me a brick on remmis to put thru for the first target..
Yep you will see photos soon as i get it..
Mike if your reading this and in anyway uncomfortable, im sorry.. Maybe i should have forseen the question, and pm'd lucky as i know he has a lot invested in this as well.. Greasy we know you had the marbles rolling off the table back in WA and your dealing with deamons everyday right now.. That rifle is the last thing for you to worry about till you get you and the marriage "fixed".
luckybychoice
no worries,just asking the question.

soon as i get back i will finish up the handmade scope base and get it all mounted up so i can ship it up to greg.the groove in the receiver is too narrow for regular scope rings to grab so i used a 10/22 Millett base.milled the bottom side flat, mounted it to the receiver, marked the receiver, drilled and tapped the holes, then had to mill a cut out in the base to clear the ejection port.i still have to finish file fitting it,paint it then bake on the finishthen bolt it togethor, bore sight it then put everything in a box and send it.with my teeth and this journey i got side tracked.i wont make any excuses.i will make it right when i get home in mid november!

ACE said to tell you she is very proud and happy for you and that as soon as she can get where she can she will be on.
Vaquero
Not for one second.
Greasy, first things first. Me and Greg had this conversation a couple of weeks back. (on the phone)
Get yerself right, the rest will fall into place.
Padre is dead serious about his above comments.
GOD Bless and keep you Greasy.

Now what did I miss?
Nitris
???
dockit
What ever happen to the gun?? I always wanted to see how it turned out.
luckybychoice
the rifle is setting in Greasypaws place. It was supposed to be done a long while ago,and it was also supposed to be a fun project for all involved, that part missed by a mile.
Nitris
OK, so is it going to be finished for those involved?
luckybychoice
Greasy has had trouble with mounting the scope,he was going to try some other base,it still has iron sights,i told Greasy to skip the scope and just go with the iron sights,Greg now says he doesn't want it and he has been MIA here since. The ball is in Greasys court.Greasy is MIA here to but i'm sure he can explain it all.I suppose.
Larry Wagner
Yep, As far as I know that's about all any of us know, or have heard
Larry Wagner
how's everybody doing, OK?
Vaquero
How's the SW today?
Larry Wagner
Good down here Lee, cooling off a bit, Damn antarctic stuff starting, down in the mid 60's. LOL
How ya doing Amigo?
Vaquero
It was 75 yesterday, supposed to be a high of 20 on wed.
Larry Wagner
Stuff gets crazier every year seems like. Getting any shooting in ?
Vaquero
Had a major wildfire south of me yesterday evening. I sure wanted to go back roading and see what it flushed out.
I decided to stay out of the FD's way.
Larry Wagner
Real good choice Vaq, don't know about anyplace else but have some family & friends on FD here & if your in there way, they will move you, no if's and's or but's. & most of the time have you arrested to boot. Guys say it happens all the time.
But, seeing what flushed is a powerful temptation, That I know!!!
WD4JIM
TBH and I got to go shoot all 3 of our new guns yesterday after Ace and I got back from the gun show. 2 shows in 2 weeks, not bad.
Larry Wagner
I finished up that Commander for that "Idiot" today, & ran 100 through it, Sweet. Now the guy says hes short on cash??
I think he is just scared out of his mind still, thinking of what could have been. I don't want to lay claim to his piece but I damn sure will,
Wish I would have never taken the job now, cause I don't feel good about turning it back over to him either, Hoping I can talk him into selling.
Larry Wagner
Howdy Bud, What 3, 2 more besides the Rossi??? & how did the Rossi work out??
WD4JIM
I picked up a Ruger P89 (love it) and got TBH a Bersa Thunder .380. which I think she is gonna do just fine with.
WD4JIM
I put 15 rounds through the Rossi. seemed to work well.
Larry Wagner
Ruger & the Thunder are both good choices. I wish they would come out with an all stainless Thunder, I would grab it in a heart beat.
Good job Jim.
