with some free time i am composing a small list of statistics as they pertain to gun crime/violence/accident and maybe suicide.im sure you all probably know this stuff, and i do too but it helps to have solid numbers pulled from www.gov sites in order to be armed against an emotional basket case arguing for the opposite of liberty.kinda came up with the idea for a facebook post(im a nerd) but it evolved into an idea to make a short group of facts not asserting that guns could have saved lives where they werent present or spout off from my cold dead hands or anything just simple TRUE FACTS and hard numbers pulled from government sites such as cdc/fbi etc.my goal is to have a personaly built and verified fact sheet that reads as a book report or a legal argument almost, with web addresses and links.maybe make a video later, but i thought these fact sheets could almost be a letter to the powers that be in suport of the 2nd amendment.i already have a good amount marked out,but gota organize it into a linear form that can be followed and fact checked easily.

So as not to reinvent the wheel, it might be a good idea to consult www.gunfacts.info first. That should point the way to what newer stats should be helpful to dispelling the current myths.

fact sheet

turned itself into a huge multi faceted issue with many more quotes and corresponding facts than can be easily condensed, this will be a few pages at least.....never was good in school, never took notes well, but at least i learned how, because this is a book report, with no book, just .gov sites full of raw info, and reports.lots of good AMMO though, pun intended.

almost done with my

almost done with my composition of assault weapon ban info and statistics .im going to post it here as soon as ive proof read it a few times to make sure it stays linear and on topic and finished the closing and easiest argument, the CONSTITUTIONAL argument.i also used California as a model for assault weapons ban since we have been under one for almost 20 years.
hope to have it done by tomato or so.if anyone would like to see it and make any suggestions that would be cool, but please dont share it till it is finished and proof checked :)

Jay, I've been writing about guns and gun control for years and I do have a bunch of links that I use for source material. I'd be happy to share them with you, but they run 10 pages in Word. Now that is a brief description and a link to an article or website that has the source material. If you're interested, let me know. This may be overkill since the links relate to all facets of gun issues, not just the AWB.

BTW, I'm new here - is there a private message capability? Or a way that you can e-mail me? The best way to get them to you would be an e-mail attachment. Let me know via reply and I'll be glad to help.

go to your own page or click your own profile pic on this page click inbox click create new message and cut and paste my address send anything you want in a message as long as it will have links and specific year,
author info, report, study, book name and page (if not in a pdf file) so that it may be substantiated before citing or quoting. That being said first, but not foremost.WELCOME to the site, enjoy it.people often show up for a day or two to peruse the boobie pics, but those of us who stick around are generally good for a discussion or help in what way we are able.my goal is to use gov sanctioned studies,or studies/facts/quotes cited in .gov websites to really help back up my position.my report has omitted personal opinions and generally used terms like
during this compilation of facts, quotes and statistics,no stats were available. quoting myself here:

"There are no available stats or data on the use of a rifle, pistol, or shotgun with a mounted bayonet being used in crime."
on the topic of features tests of "assault weapons"
not to say there are no stats, simply there are no .gov pages found when searching with any stats on the topic,as well as the fact that i found none on multiple google search missions. My numbers would have looked great next to a stat of like 1 per year or .000000000000123 per 100'000 or something.stick around and enjoy the site.

I jumped the gun on this one. When I reread your post and found that you were looking for only GOVERNMENT sites that supported your assault weapons ban piece, I doubt that I have any that you don’t already have.

My ten pages of links include links to other popular new sites, like HotAir, RedState, Breitbart, WND, etc. and media outlets like U.S.News, New York Times, Washington Post, etc. I even occasionally link to Mother Jones and Huff Post. I write my articles from a conservative perspective and liberals find it hard to argue with a statement made by one of their favorite outlets – that’s the reason for keeping links to leftist news organizations.

I’ve also got links to gunssavelives.net and john Lott’s site, armsandthelaw.com, gunwatch, etc.

I name those just in case you may find some need for them in the future. My writing covers all sorts of gun-related items and aren’t as specific as your current endeavor is, so while I’ve got several (direct) links to parts of the FBI crime stats, they’re all available from the single portal – which I’m sure that you’ll already have. Nevertheless, here it is
:
Following are links to FBI crime statistics:
http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/crime-in-the-u.s/2011/crime-in-the-...
http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/crime-in-the-u.s/2011/crime-in-the-...
http://www.fbi.gov/stats-services/crimestats

Sorry, at first glance I thought that I could provide more help, but as I said, my sources run the gamut and aren’t limited to federal government sites.

I also invite you to check out my blog, Pesky Truth. I write satirical pieces about Obama, Biden, Feinstein, etc., general political stuff, and gun related subjects. Here’s the link: http://peskytruth.wordpress.com/

Sorry about the misunderstanding.
